The hitmarkers are a normalmode feature. If you play hardcore mode most of your hud is removed and you don't get the hitmarkers. There's various advantages and disadvantages to playing normal/hardcore.
I'm not a big fan of super-realism in video games so I'm glad an alternative to dayz is coming out.

I'm also glad.
I personally prefer more realism, but at least there will be a choice on the days I feel like something different.
God, that sniper rifle noise is just BLUHH.
That's what high powered rifles sound like
loud and obnoxious
i have to ask, what the fuck is with those g36 tracers, they look like balls.
the second video looks so scripted
That's what high powered rifles sound like

The fake echoing sound is what annoys me, I hear it a lot in games and it's poor sound design. Very unnatural sounding when you shoot inside a building and it sounds like you're in the middle of an open field.
Also in the second video, the two guys shooting are way off in the distance yet you can hear their spent bullet casings drop as loud as their gunfire.

Not feeling that. I hate when games separate their gameplay into a hardcore mode and non hardcore mode. No one's going to want to play on hardcore if it means getting shot at more easily by people with higher end gear. (Since they're the ones playing hardcore)
The thing about DayZ is that it forces you to deal with situations and unforgiving realism. There's no easy mode.

hardcore players can mingle on normalcore servers but normalcore can't come to pure hardcore servers. on pure hardcore servers rare (and better items, I would assume) drop. The rare items don't drop on normalcore servers. You can play purely with hardcore players, if you truely want that.
Hardcore is purely high risk high reward.
Well DayZ is the big rigs of zombie games. This doesn't look nearly as abysmal
Ahahaha the company making WarZ also made the engine for Big Rigs :v:
Looks better than I expected, seems like it would be fun
Looks like cod. The game having hitmarkers really does not help it look less like it
COD didn't invent hitmarkers.
This looks absolutely terrible. People are actually going to pay money for this when they already have ArmA which does the same thing (but better) and more. The animations are just dreadful and the sounds are just stock. Whats so great about this? I get it, people love Dayz and they want more. But thats no excuse to just go and eat up anything a dev throws at you.
DayZ does a lot of what people wanted, but it does none of those things well.
Animations, sound, gameplay, difficulty (or lack of), and trying to connect online is all just awful.
Pretty much any alternative would have to be an improvement over DayZ.
Video 2 was totally scripted. The newspawn didn't try to kill him as soon as he got his guns.
The whole problem with DayZ is that mostly assholes play it by now and i don't think it will be different here
The whole problem with DayZ is that mostly assholes play it by now and i don't think it will be different here
While it may seem like that, the cause is likely to be the fact that DayZ gives you absolutely no reason whatsoever to keep anybody but yourself alive. All players, even those that aren't trying to kill you, just pose a greater threat than the zombies by being near you.
If WarZ can solve this issue with a working karma system, then that's great progress over DayZ.
I hope the zombies are a bigger threat than in DayZ. I mean, in DayZ they were only a danger because they ran in zig-zags and followed you forever. Grouping up with players purely to survive should be a big focus point. Maybe add special zombies that are far tougher and require flanking and whatnot to distract it from target to target.

time to say goodbye to physics then!
It has already been said that the safe zones turrets will shoot at bandits if they go near them. And you can only store your things in the global inventory at the safe zones. That is a vital thing for this game as we have no tents.
In other words if you start killing for the fun of it you lose access to your global storage unless all the bandits team up to raid the place. (already said bandits can raid safe zones)
Bandits do have bandit camps but it is run by bandits so not really a trusting place to visit for anybody.
Only safe place for a bandit is to join a bandit clan that owns there own island with a permanganate stronghold there. (already said we can rent 4-6 kilometre islands with strongholds and storage)
The wiki has all the info you will need to know why it is a bad idea to go around killing people.

That sounds cool, it's not too realistic but it sounds amazing to have an all out war against bandits and survivors in a safezone
Oh and I suppose the most vital thing for not shooting on site is that if you get bitten by a zombie you become infected. Once infected the only way to cure yourself is to take on a super zombie at night that is strong enough you will need a group of people.
They spawn in popular areas at night. They drop a cure once they die.
Kind of like a tank on left 4 dead.
its look awesome, but too arcade, but still awesome
I think what makes DayZ looks way more cool than WarZ, is because their main game (ArmA) Is a realistic simulator war shooter
thats my opinion :v:
I fucking hate the arma engine, so I'll be looking at this
This honestly looks just as good, if not better than DayZ. Half the fun for me in these games, is to play with a friend. Running around for an hour, just to find a friend, and dieing 10 minutes later due to the shitty Arma engine and controls is not fun.
This may be more casual and 'CoD' like, but if both are going to cost money,I think I'd have more fun with this. I wouldn't be surprised if this appealed to more people and sold more. Competition is also nice.

I am like the only person who likes the ArmA engine.
