I like it. It genuinely makes me chuckle. Good job CN.
Wait i just noticed the art style changed to the original in the flashback, neat
That first intro looks like a cross between Powerpuff Girls and Breaking Bad.
Series premieres today! Also, new clip with some classic villains returning!
Honestly the reboot changed too much in design, humor and storytelling imo.
Will this be the new My Little Pony, will we have Powerpuff Boys now, for christ's sake
Nobody would think that unless they don't know the original show from the late 90's / early 00's.
I've had it with these fucking jellybean mouths
I've had it with these fucking jellybean mouths
but they were like that since the original ppg
I'm just gonna hop on this before it becomes cancerous purely out of nostalgia so I can enjoy the episodes and jump ship before we start seeing pervy PPG fanfics and porn.
but they were like that since the original ppg
PPG had crescent mouths.
I really liked the last episode, the [sp]Mojo Jojo in the closet[/sp] part was unexpected and funny
You say that like the old intro wasn't ~~~~~~~~~~~~~edgy~~~~~~~~~~~~~. It was edgy as fuck for a kids show and we ate that shit up.
Roserade....right?
Is it true that Ms Bellum isn't returning in the reboot?
Is it true that Ms Bellum isn't returning in the reboot?

One character who didn't make the cut in the new "Powerpuff Girls" series? The mayor's red-headed assistant Ms. Bellum. "We felt like Ms. Bellum wasn't quite indicative of the kind of messaging we wanted to be giving out at this time, so we sort of had her move on," Jennings explained. "And that was a good choice I think on our part." .
Source
Damnit, I really liked Bellum, she was one of the best characters.
I remember the episode where Bellum kicked Sedusa's ass.
Uh, what is the message they want to be giving?
Uh, what is the message they want to be giving?
From the same article
Jennings and the "Powerpuff Girls" crew are very aware about the types of messages and themes they are exploring in the new series. While a series may have been considered progressive just by featuring three female superhero protagonists in 1998, modern Cartoon Network series such as "Adventure Time" and "Steven Universe" have set the bar higher by infusing more feminist themes regarding women's roles and gender identity and expression into their shows. In addition to shattering old tropes and kick-punching dated ideas, the new "Powerpuff Girls" will also address issues of gender and identity. One upcoming episode in particular touches on ideas of gender identity -- a topic open to conversation even in animated shows, thanks to programs such as "Steven Universe," which explores gender fluidity and rejects established gender norms.
What, no Bellum? I liked her...
Yeah that's stupid, i hope that she'll return in s2 due to this backlash, Miss Bellum may look like the classic sexy woman stereotype judging by her look, but she had a very cool personality and knew how to kick ass. What i don't like about this reboot is how they are trying to promote it, for example, they said it a progressive show by saying there's a male pony who wants to be a unicorn in one episode, well that episode recently aired and imho it wasn't progressive at all, the only reason they said that is because the pony is male, but shows like Star Vs The Forces Of Evil already did that (The italian unicorn in the last episode) without calling it progressive.
I don't really care much about how cartoon's try to be "progressive". I just want to be entertained, that's all. No need for hidden messages and stuff like that. I don't know if it's just me but seems like a lot of cartoons try to be like that nowadays.
I never thought anyone would dethrone Mojo Jojo as one of my favorite villains in this series. God damn Manboy comes close. I want to see more of him in the future.
Just not feeling the reboot, it's heavy handed and way too reliant on LOLRANDOMCHIMICHANGA humor to really carry anything. Hopefully it gets better.
what message
She was an executive assistant with a sexy body/voice, does it really need to be spelled out?
Watched all the episodes and I'm wondering, what happened to that phone they had in almost every episode back then? I swear I never saw it once yet.
It's now a smartphone.
damn
I take back everything I've said about this show. It got off to a decent enough start, but has since become the prime example of what is wrong with Cartoon Network reboots. This guy puts it nicely:
This show is slowly becoming Powerpuff Girls Go.
Yeah, what the heck is with all the memes.
