This essentially gets it all out.
The Ms. Sara Bellum character was the super-intelligent, capable and apparently beautiful woman (her face was never shown), who for some reason never rose above being the assistant to the generally clueless mayor of Townsville.
... that's the joke?
... that's the joke?
From what I've seen from the new PPG, these people don't get jokes.
... that's the joke?
Actually no, and TVT is terrible source for anything unless you have aspergic autistic stereotypitis, which incidentally is an imaginary condition only found in the internet. If you meander back to the show, you'll find Ms. Bellum actually is the Mayor when it really counts, and that was the actual joke. Apparently the new showrunners aren't interested in cartoon subtlety. As deliciously ironic as that sounds.
If you meander back to the show, you'll find Ms. Bellum actually is the Mayor when it really counts

The underling who's much smarter, more efficient and more industrious than their (usually totally incompetent) boss, and is the one actually responsible for anything that gets done in the workplace.
You basically just said the same thing.
Nope. Context being completely different. Mr. Mayor made the decisions wholesale, Ms. Bellum un/remade the decisions where appropriate. What you're describing is essentially the Smithers-Burns dynamic. The sidekick paradigm depends on the character being an extension of the "superior" idiot only. Ms. Bellum got her episodes, did her own thing.
This show is going to age terribly. It reminds me of one of those cartoons from the 90s with all its "COOL AND RADICAL" shit. Except replace that with 2010 memes and culture.
I find it funny they cut Bellum as a 'Sexist' design yet they have no problem sexualizing prepubescent girls having them twerk.

Well, now, after 12 episodes, i can say that it's really average. Nothing a s2 can fix if the people behind it actually understand the feedback and start daring with the show instead of taking elements from other CN shows hoping that their show will be as good too. Currently this ppg doesn't have its own identity, there are some awful episodes *coff* painbow, horn sweet horn, wrinklegruff gals *Coff*, the others are mostly ok, with the best one being Tiara Trouble in my opinion (even if people are too busy overreacting because of the NO ME GUSTA meme) but every "good" episode is average at best. The animation also isn't very good, i'm not talking about the style, but about visual errors and such. For example, this one really is unacceptable

If you think that the PPG reboot is bad, just remember that the new Samurai Jack season is still coming. The pain is only beginning.
If you think that the PPG reboot is bad, just remember that the new Samurai Jack season is still coming. The pain is only beginning.
I have faith in Samurai Jack cause it's on Adult Swim, but hey they might fuck it up.
I have faith in Samurai Jack cause it's on Adult Swim, but hey they might fuck it up.
I had faith in the new PPG too, until the memes and the rushed production started
If you think that the PPG reboot is bad, just remember that the new Samurai Jack season is still coming. The pain is only beginning.
The pain started with Teen Titans Go.
If you think that the PPG reboot is bad, just remember that the new Samurai Jack season is still coming. The pain is only beginning.
PPG failed because the original creators weren't involved and had no idea what they were doing, and TTG failed because it was actively trying to be different. Thankfully, none of those aspects apply to the new Samurai Jack season.
Samurai jack is in good hands, i have high expectations with Genndy Tartakovsky working on it. I still do believe this PPG reboot can be saved while it's still relevant, it just needs someone to tell those guys what to do
If you think that the PPG reboot is bad, just remember that the new Samurai Jack season is still coming. The pain is only beginning.
While Jack is in the hands of his original creator and the bonus of the censors not up his ass, it could possibly be better than the original run. While I will plead ignorant to any news regarding the new Justice League show, the Ben 10 reboot news makes it sound like it will be suffering from what this show is having problems with.
Well, McCracken was gonna make the PPG Reboot, but he couldn't accept CN's offer because he has a contract with Disney for Wander Over Yonder and a new show he still has to make. Which is a shame, but not so much because Wander is an amazing cartoon that feels like a classic CN show while also being totally original
I have faith in Samurai Jack cause it's on Adult Swim, but hey they might fuck it up.
i have complete confidence in SJ because [as] is handling it, which means CN Studios isn't going to adventure time the fuck out of it bc they're not involved (?). William Street has its own art style (and they won't be piggy backing off Hanna Barbera cells either) on top of that, [as] is for a mature audience meaning they basically have as much creative design freedom as possible and won't be limited to a PG tier style
She was an executive assistant with a sexy body/voice, does it really need to be spelled out?
is there really anything wrong with that? sexiness is empowering.
is there really anything wrong with that? sexiness is empowering.
I never implied otherwise. It's pretty telling where she got her episodes and plenty kicked ass.
Source
All they need to do now is make all the female characters with a personality a lesbian and they'll have succeeded at creating yet another dull progressive designed-by-committee CN show.
I wonder if they'll bring back that Misandrist lady that made the PPG become rude to guys and they basically had to get taught feminism by the teacher and Ms. Bellum
Femme Fatale was a one-off villain in the original run of the series. Meanwhile Morbucks and Sedusa were recurring villains. Considering how Ms. Bellum got cut for...reasons(???) I have high doubts that Sedusa would be making more appearances as well.
is there really anything wrong with that? sexiness is empowering.
Apparently only if it applies to the person saying it, since anyone else being sexy is apparently demeaning to women.
This show fucking sucks. I watched 10 episodes for no good reason other than to feel the pain everybody else felt, and most of my time was spent predicting stuff because the writing is too unfunny and predictable. Now my only further exposure is via animation errors.
If you think that the PPG reboot is bad, just remember that the new Samurai Jack season is still coming. The pain is only beginning.
-snip other people posted basically the same thought nevermind-

Sara Bellum (cerebellum). Removing her from the show was one of the worst decisions they have ever made, despite already making tons of terrible decisions in the first place.
