you're bidding for star players there dude, you'll have to add at least another few million before the teams will take you seriously. What I usually do is get a scout report, your scout will tell you exactly how much you will have to bid to be able to negotiate a contract.

GOTY got multiplayer too. Get a mod called Shifter, and another one I forgot.
Both these correct annoying bugs and give you a really better game (especially Shifter with the xp per kill/steath).
Anyway, that game is really damn awesome. :D
