Just got an ipad2, although using fp on this doesn't compare to using it on an iPod, do you think it will be worth it using it on this?
Year and a half and Minecraft is barely in beta
...and Alpha.
Good news! Facepunch for iPhone will be on sale in the App Store starting tonight, 1st April 6PM GMT.
That was surprising.
[editline]1st April 2011[/editline]
Waaaaaait a minute...
Oh also I'm happy to announce that I'm merging with Hexxeh to form a new organisation
He doesn't know yet
Oh ha-ha, Hexxeh.
Beta testers, please can you go read the new sticky in the testing forum ASAP.
Also, just built against the iOS 4.3 SDK, feels even faster than it did before.
Though what I said yesterday was indeed an April Fools (did I fool anyone? :v:), I am gearing up for a release in the coming weeks.
A new update, version 1.80 is going to be hitting testers devices within the next week. No major new features, just lots of behind the scenes code refactoring that needs testing. Logins are moving over to the new API wrapper object, and replies have been moved into a method of the Thread object.
Smell of apple fanboys in here :P
iOS is way better than android tbh, I mean it's only better when iOS is jailbroken...

hexxeh, 4.3 build means I won't be able to get it. I have 4.2 iirc and my 3G won't get 4.3

Yes you will, don't worry.
sound as fuck

That's good cause i like the smell of new apple products.
Fixed the session timeout bug, now if your session key expires, you won't just get failures reloading, it'll automatically grab you a new session key and then try the original request again.
Also, if you're in the BETA program and haven't provided feedback in the thread, you are unlikely to receive future versions of the application and your access might be removed. Get off your arses.
So how is the Beta going at this stage?
When are we expecting a release? *Trying not to sound like the rest of FP

Soon actually. Lots of work going on with it right now. Mostly polishing and behind the scenes performance work. Trying to really squeeze every drop of speed out of it.
For example, each post is now using a cached layout. It only has to figure this out for the first one, every row after the first is faster because it can simply change the content.
A new version of the Titanium tools were released yesterday which have some handy profiling tools which are really useful too, plus a debugger (AT LAST) so I can figure what's going on with some of the rare crashes.
I will get this once released :)
This looks awesome. Truly awesome
I'm browsing from my iPhone right now, and having an app for Facepunch will be a dream come true.
I know that the release is soon, but does soon mean 'in a month','in a week', or some time in between? And I may be missing something, but are all features of the forum working?
Oh my god I hadn't an idea this thread still existed.
Agreed a revenue sharing deal with garry today, new version is coming in a few days to testers.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
