How about a post notification, when there's a new post, a message comes up, and when you click the box or "refresh in blue" it refreshes.
Another suggestion: Add a setting to add gzip encoding headers to make Facepunch send responses compressed, for those of us who still have to cope with 2G networks and/or bandwidth limits.
It's more of a flick than a shake really, just any sharp jolt on the device will trigger the event.
i'm telling you though, your coding + my ui = the most awesome thing ever (or at least get a better UI, whatever you want)
Hello, my name is Invitoro Generico. I recently came up with a brilliant idea, a simple device that will power a city with only the input of two easy winds! It's going to change the world! I took it to this company today, but they said "Well, we don't want to have to pay you for it. Bye." What's this? My device being shown on TV? The company is taking credit for it, no mention of me? Oh, why? If only patent laws would have protected me! Now I won't receive royalties and my family will starve to death. Patents can be extremely important.
Only it doesn't work like that, it's more like.. Hello, my name is Invitoro Generico. I've been asking people to post mockups for me to take into consideration in the thread. All I've seen from you is a red toolbar and a blank page. If you have something good to show, then show it. I've also stated the look and feel of the app in the screenshots I've shown isn't final, it's just something for me to work with while I get all the behind the scenes code into place. [editline]09:59PM[/editline] Just added landscape mode support to the forums section of the app:
Hexxeh will .APNG's work?
Hexxeh will .APNG's work?
Webkit doesn't support it, so probably no.
Which icon do you prefer?
I prefer the one on the right.
I personally like cosmic duck best.

Any idea once the API is done how long it will take you to get to beta/release w/e
I like the red one, but it'd probably look better if it had the same lighting as the grey one
Any idea once the API is done how long it will take you to get to beta/release w/e
Put is this way, I'm not going to be wasting any time. As soon as it's ready, it'll be passed over to Apple for approval. I will very likely post the paid version first, because it's easier (ie I don't have to implement iAds) and because people who want to try the app out might be tempted into buying it and in turn this means I get paid for my work.
Will the paid version work on <4.0 if there is no iAds? [editline]aaaa[/editline] Awesome V I like the third one best
Will the paid version work on <4.0 if there is no iAds?
Should do, yep.
Some mock up on ratings, drag the rating on the post to rate. Kinda stupid tho.

Check the icons post at the top again, I've made the shine (or lighting as one of you called it) the same on all of them.

I was thinking more swipe the row for the post you want to rate to get a popup with all the ratings in. Tap the post for options like reply.
I was thinking more swipe the row for the post you want to rate to get a popup with all the ratings in. Tap the post for options like reply.
This sounds good. And use that middle icon at the top of this page. Looks good. Actually never mind, changed my mind. I like the 3rd one the best.

Second one. Also I think a rating button would be better which slides out the rating toolbar, otherwise it takes too much space. Anyone have some smart app functionalities they can remember I got none. Bumping as an example. [editline]07:51AM[/editline] Yeah swiping whatever.
The third icon is my favorite. About the ratings. The top right button hides it, the thing is when you reading through a lot of dumb posts, you want to award them the dumb rating as fast as possible. Tap top right button, drag box to posts five times, tap top right button to hide.
I prefer the second icon.
There should be a way to hide the rating though to save space.
Maybe slide right/left would show ratings/reply Or a longpress menu for ratings, tap for reply
Took me a whole 5 minutes then. Not a huge fan of Android development in general though, hugely fragmented platform. We'll likely be targeting 1.6. Will need to do some reworking on the UI to make it Android compatible with this new framework I'm using though, so the Android version will take longer.
1.6? What the fuck man? Almost everybody is using either 2.1 or froyo. [editline]02:56PM[/editline]
Which icon do you prefer? On the topic of animated GIFs, some will work, some won't.
