That might be frustrating if you're rating multiple posts in a short time personally I loved the drag and drop idea, but it would waste screen space
A button could hide it!
Holy shit you are my hero. If you need a iPhone 4 tester.. :q: But there are some Forum-browsers in the App store, i don't know if they work on FP but since its the engine Do you have a Apple SDK subscription?
I actually tried Tapatalk yesterday to see what all the fuss was about, and it seriously sucks. I thought my UIs were terrible, holy shit the Tapatalk ones were worse...
What did you take at A level Hexxeh?
TapaTalk beats Safari though.
What did you take at A level Hexxeh?
Computing, Physics and Maths. I did Electronics at AS too, but my college doesn't offer it at A2 because there aren't enough people (I was in a class of 6). Which is a shame, because I'd have far rather taken Electronics over Maths or Physics. [editline]02:55PM[/editline]
TapaTalk beats Safari though.
You know, I'm not so sure about that. Facepunch is so customised and unique that a lot of the features you might want to use simply aren't available.
Also, do a "Drag-to-update" system, So the thread keeps updating without re-entering it. [editline]01:56PM[/editline] And you should aim in just viewing and posting on FP. Add other features later.

Anyways,
A button could hide it!
That's a pretty good idea, the menu could also have reply and stuff like that in it, and you would just drag and drop to a post
Oh right, we took similar subjects then, minus Electronics. Also I looked up Tappatalk and I don't like it. Double also, what about: Select post Rating menu pops up Drag n drop rating/select rating Post rated.
Yeah keep it real until the basics are done.
Viewing is done functionality wise pretty much. You can navigate through the forums and threads, pagination still needs a UI though. Once cosmic comes online I'll get him to design all the views and then go and make it work. Next up is logins, then posting, which are both fairly trivial from the point of view of the app, more work on compwhizii's side for that though. Once that's done, I'll do the ticker which is fairly simple because the forums already spew out JSON for this as it is.
sorry for the size (Retina display :v:) But i ment that "Updating" If you could add that to the threads
Funny you should mention that, that's exactly what I'm adding at the moment. Here's how you do it if you're interested: http://github.com/appcelerator/KitchenSink/blob/master/KitchenSink/Resources/examples/table_view_pull_to_refresh.js
Select post Rating menu pops up Drag n drop rating/select rating Post rated.
That also, but I think that having a menu for the ratings and replying might be a bit faster. Honestly though, both work fine.
I suppose its user preference really, but yes, both do work fine. Anyway, I'll wait and see what gets churned out :v:
Should we have pull-to-refresh for threads or posts, or both? Threads already has shake-to-refresh, posts has neither at the moment.
Both, Inside a thread it should have shake to refresh and in the forum display the pull thingy
Both.
This is how FP looks like in the normal Safari browser on the iPhone 4 [img_thumb]http://www.plaatjesupload.nl/bekijk/2010/09/12/1284288869-50.png[/img_thumb]
Both. Although I don't see why you would want to refresh an individual post
Seems kinda pointless having both shake and pull on one screen.
Edit: I think it's nice having the option, for example my cellphone has a lock key, an off key that opens up a slide to unlock and also a keyboard for unlocking by sliding it out. It doesn't get as confusing as it sounds though :v:
This is how FP looks like in the normal Safari browser on the iPhone 4 [img_thumb]http://www.plaatjesupload.nl/bekijk/2010/09/12/1284288869-50.png[/img_thumb]
ok my automerge :(
probably the wrong thread to ask it but should I get an ipod touch 8gb
I think he he ment a thread
Pull to refresh please
probably the wrong thread to ask it but should I get an ipod touch 8gb
The new one? Either that or an iPhone 4, yes. No use just saying "Pull to refresh" or "Shake to refresh". Say which should be on which view.
probably the wrong thread to ask it but should I get an ipod touch 8gb
Yes, Its a great iDevice, (Retina and the all the stuff of the iPhone 4!) [editline]02:10PM[/editline] Forum display = pull to refresh Thread = Shake to refresh (Or optional in the Option menu?)
Or you could have shake in the settings, but pull is more efficient.
The new one? Either that or an iPhone 4, yes. No use just saying "Pull to refresh" or "Shake to refresh". Say which should be on which view.
I think having one specific way of refreshing on one view but not the other would get confusing
Forum view=Shake Thread=Pull
