I'm sure someone on this forum will create a Facepunch-browsing app that uses the Facepunch API and release it for free (without fucking iAds).
and I wish them all the best
will it be availible for windows phone 7?
Not this version. Hexxeh is programming it for iOS and maybe android right now. As soon as the FP API is released, someone may choose to develop for it.
How nice i recently bought an Iphone.
I'm just waiting :3:
I just bought a droid x yesterday just waiting to realize the mistake that I might have made. Anyway as I reply to this thread on this phone I can see why an app would be awesome for this. I expect to download it when it comes out.
Overv just posted a mockup of one he's going to do, so you're probably right!
Yes, I'm thinking of making my version free for just browsing and £1 for posting and rating yourself. Is that fair enough?
That's stupid. Make it free without ads or don't make it at all. Hexxeh has the free ad supported version covered and the premium one too.
Actually I just found out that browsing fp in landscape mode works pretty well. Still would be nice to have a dedicated app though.

Then I'll have the free without ads version covered. Good luck.
We will have two versions:
Free version - costs nothing, but has ads - allows browsing and posting and creation of new threads
Premium version - costs $3/4, no ads at all - allows browsing, posting, creation of new threads, rating, PMs, popular threads and read threads and possibly push notifications for PMs and replies to threads you read in a future version.
I'm trying to make the free version usable enough, but still entice people into upgrading to the paid version. Don't forget, developers only get 70% of the selling price.
I can't wait. I should have my upgrade for a new phone by then. Jumping onto the Evo.

Second it comes to Android, I'll buy just as fast.

Come to think of it, is compwhizii/garry going to make a push service or are you going to put up your own server polling FP all the time for that?

I'm working with him on designing the API, we discussed API callbacks to make it into a two-way system, but it's going to be fairly complicated to implement and it's not priority.
I'd be willing to pay
even though every app on my phone is free
You should do a custom DRM where anyone who pirates it is banned :buddy: I'm sure there's a way to find out who does.

No, thank you. I can already do everything that you mentioned in the 'premium version' on my default android browser.

Hexxeh has a pretty fucking incredible DRM idea lined up.

£2/3 is quite a bit, but I bit I'm willing to pay

You know tapatalk can work with FP right?

There isn't. Unless it would be linked to your FP account, but google doesn't allow for that type of stuff. You'd need certain API's ect.
What course is this for?
What course is this for?
Make sense. It's so much more enjoyable for the reader.
Make sense. It's so much more enjoyable for the reader.
He does make sense, he's asking for course Hexxeh made this for?
As an answer: Computing. Says so in the OP
Make sense. It's so much more enjoyable for the reader.
He is making the app for a A level course and I think he is asking what the course is.
See, he is making sense.
You guys really can't afford to spend $3-4? That's cheap.
Aydin, the browsing experience would be much more optimized and enjoyable through an app instead of you browser. That being said it's not like Hexxeh is forcing a paid version down our throat.

Well he kinda is, browsing a forum without the ability of posting is only cool if you're a lurker. And no, I can't afford 4$ for an app which will only be used for forum browsing, and I don't want to. That's about just as dumb as paying 9$ for tapatalk.
If it costs more than pvz I'd rather get pvz.

$3 -$4 is a little expensive when I can just use safari. If it was $0.99 - $2 then yes I would buy it.
I might get it; depends on how good it looks and stuff I guess

Then don't buy it. Problem solved.
Or pirate it and suffer the DRM wrath of Hexxeh.

Not really. See when half your potential customers don't want to over pay for something then can already do but just a little harder then you have a problem.
