[QUOTE=Overv;27761291]Simple: Fake server that authorizes the application.[/QUOTE] Not exactly that easy. See he is asking for a receipt from Apple to see if you actually bought it. I am sure hexxeh will know if you have actually bought the app or not. [editline]30th January 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=codenamecueball;27762000]fake auth server? so where does the info for the api posts and stuff come through? I highly doubt you would make a server process facepunch.[/QUOTE] [img]http://f.cl.ly/items/05112P3j0V0m3s2r2m2J/Screen%20shot%202011-01-15%20at%2018.33.34.png[/img] If he is still doing this method then the only way you could do this is by faking the Apple server. So when the app requested a receipt it would send back a "Hey he bought it" type thing. But you might be able to tell if it is real or not. I am not really sure.

you can't make threads yet, argh. Image upload ability would be nice. And make red posts take you to posts. And make an open in safari/copy post URL option on hghlight.
You can't fake Apple's server response unless you compromise the API server or it's connection to Apple. Faking the API server is pointless because then you have no data to work with and the app becomes useless.
Hexxeh, will you be updating it with Honeycomb-esque features? From what I've seen and heard, it looks to be pretty easy to port a "phone app" into a "tablet app"
The API already enforces beta status on a user account, it's similar to how it'll work once it's in the store. Even if you had the IPA right now as the server will send a big fuck you back with your login response and not provide a session key. Or does Apple's server stream the code of the app? Interesting.
[QUOTE=Overv;27762842]Apple's server takes care of Facepunch requests? Interesting.[/QUOTE] You're not making any sense now. I'd argue more but iPhone keyboards aren't suited to volumes of typing. If you're so convinced you can crack it, then find yourself a copy and take your best shot. Bear in mind there are no DRM hooks in there yet. Try screwing with a final version and you're playing with fire; likely to get burnt.

[QUOTE=Hexxeh;27762787]Once Appcelerator supports it yeah.[/QUOTE] Why in the hell have I not heard of this awesome developer-suite? Seriously this is amazing.
[QUOTE=Overv;27762979]My iPod Touch is jailbroken, so it doesn't matter if Apple screws me over by disallowing App Store access or something.[/QUOTE] Apple won't screw you over, but meddle with my piracy safeguards and I might. For someone who claims to be a developer themselves, you think you'd have a bit more respect for peoples work, too. Apparently not.
[QUOTE=Alex_DeLarge;27763274]Why in the hell have I not heard of this awesome developer-suite? Seriously this is amazing.[/QUOTE] It is pretty awesome. I used Sencha Touch previously and this is leaps and bounds better.
Do you both HAVE to argue on here AND twitter?
[QUOTE=Jacko2007;27761433]Although having it associated to your Facepunch login could be problematic for alt users, they could buy it, get banned, switch accounts and lose access to the app.[/QUOTE] Just don't get banned.
[QUOTE=Jacko2007;27761433]Although having it associated to your Facepunch login could be problematic for alt users, they could buy it, get banned, switch accounts and lose access to the app.[/QUOTE] Good another reason why not to get banned.
If it's free, I'll probably get it (Hell even if it's a dollar or something I'll probably stop being such a jew for a day and get it)
[QUOTE=Alex_grist;27763549]Do you both HAVE to argue on here AND twitter?[/QUOTE] Apparently yes, but it is entertaining I guess.
[QUOTE=icemaz;27764294]Apparently yes, but it is entertaining I guess.[/QUOTE] Drama is over, move along.
Why has it been in beta for age's I through there were like next to none bugs
[QUOTE=cosmic duck;27753478]iOS already has a rotation lock feature in the multitasking menu, building another one into the app would be unneeded and silly.[/QUOTE] Isn't that 4.2+ only? Since the app is going to be compatible with previous iOS versions, wouldn't it make sense to include it?
This App needs some android love.
Hexxeh, can we get an estimated release time?
[QUOTE=Zeb Brown;27764917]Why has it been in beta for age's I through there were like next to none bugs[/QUOTE] Hes been busy I do suppose.
[QUOTE=cosmic duck;27753478]iOS already has a rotation lock feature in the multitasking menu, building another one into the app would be unneeded and silly.[/QUOTE] That one locks it to portrait mode only, I want it to be lockable to landscape.
What happens if you switch from a iphone to a android phone?
[QUOTE=shian;27766960]What happens if you switch from a iphone to a android phone?[/QUOTE] The purchase is tied to your account so it would give you the premium version on android as well.
[QUOTE=Veers;27767093]The purchase is tied to your account so it would give you the premium version on android as well.[/QUOTE] So the account works both ways?
Are you going to add image upload support? Like, it uploads it to some site like [url]www.cubeupload.com[/url] or something, and gives you the BBCode? Not sure of iWhatever limitation./ [editline]30th January 2011[/editline] Wait, do iThings let you upload files at all?

Ok. I'm thinking of like, going to [url]www.uploadafile.com[/url] (I don't know if that's a website, just an example) and clicking Browse. Last time I tried something like that on my iTouch, it wouldn't let me browse for files. I know my Droid lets me, but then again, the last time I used iAnything was over a year ago
