I think cosplay can look kinda cool if people change it up a bit and make it look like it could exist in real life, but generally it looks fake and stupid.

I would love to but I don't have the money to go to other countries. I'm sadly stuck in England- the only convention I've ever been to is the London MCM (but, I've been to it about seven times so... yeah).
Maybe some day I'll be able to go to cons in other countries.
I saw the fattest chick in my highschool dress up in team rocket and dancing next to our Bboy club stand.

Not everyone hates it. Most people join the bandwagon so they don't get hated on. I enjoy anime and I think cosplay is awesome.
I'm a fan of cosplay, I've never done it outside of Halloween. Its not really that bad as many people make it out to be. Last Halloween, I was Dr. Horrible. Some good times.

Not all cosplay is about anime you know, I personally think it's dumb to pidgeon-hole it into one category considering there has been cosplays of characters from things like movies, comics, games, etc. At the moment I'm working on a Green Lantern costume but I'm not sure wether or not I should make Hal Jordan's or Kyle Rayner's second GL uniform.
I don't "do" cosplay, but this is my joker nurse costume form last year's halloween which I'm sure you folk would appreciate... complete with gotham general ID, harvey dent stickers and a blinking detonator.

When everyone gets off the hate bandwagon for 10 seconds threads go a bit easier.
Not into cosplay, but I always to to Otocon (or however you spell it) with a friend of mine and pretend to be interested in the culture just because my friend has a nice body and always wears some skimpy, hot, slutty cosplaying thing.
