• My New Kitten Could Die at Any Second
That must've been very hard. Did they go at the same time?
I can't remember when Max went (the first one) but I remember all of my family sitting in the living room and telling me what happened to Cody (the second one) after I had woken up. He had died in the front yard. :frown:
I have a cat named Izzy :smith: Now I'm sad
shes probably gonna be fine, sounds like she was the runt so she more than likely needs to grow a little more and her heart will fix itself.
Just let it enjoy her life, There's not really a big chance that it'll die or that the diagnosis is true. Also people should stop thinking the cat's having any pain because of a murmur.
Awwww shit this reminds me of one of my old cats. We had this cat who birthed a litter of about 6 little kittens, all of them died within an hour or two of being born except one. We called him Solo because the name fit. He lived for months, about 3 infact.. but after 3 months we kind of noticed he hadn't really grown much, almost not at all. I went to the vet with my dad with Solo and we sat next to this other dude with a cat and my dad asked how old this mans cat was and he replied "3 months". We just looked back at Solo in amazement.. This 3 month old cat we seen at the vet was almost a fullsized cat and Solo could still sit happily in my dads hand. Needless to say Solo had a heart condition and just happened to be the lucky one in the crop but shortly after he had to be put down because the slow death would just be too painful and unfair for him.. God fucking dammit I miss that cat :frown: Is there no justice in this world?
Kick it against a fence? Sorry :( (User was banned for this post ("Prick" - Jaanus))
Best ban i've seen yet. OP, I feel sorry for you, knowing very well you could loose a loved one at anymoment, have a heart.
I had a similar experience last year... I adopted new little two or three month old kittens. Everything was great, until the first one came down with a severe case of distemper... the Humane Society said to bring her in, and that they'd do whatever they could for her. I should have known that would just mean putting her down, but I was more hopeful at the time. Two or three weeks later, and my second kitten throws up the same distemper-signaling liquid. I started panicking and just generally being horribly depressed, and of course my mom just told me we had to put her down. I just couldn't bear the thought of the second kitten being put down, so I said that I just wanted to keep her for one more day. Eight months later, that kitten is healthier than ever and as happy as can be. Obviously, it's a very different situation... a murmur is very, very different from a virus, but it may be worth trying to keep the kitten a little longer. If, by some miracle, it turns out alright, then you made a good choice. If not, then at least it lived its last days loved and comforted.
She is in my room as I type this. Thank you all for the bits of hope you have given me. She's exploring my room and climbing on my bed and just being a perfect new kitten.

Put it down before you get too close to it. When it dies you won't be as sad. I hope it lives though.
Put it down before you get too close to it. When it dies you won't be as sad.
Why would he do that.. He should let the cat live it's life to it's fullest, get really close with it, and make the cat happy as hell.
-snip-
:h: Please live longer, Izzy. Wait, my name is actually Izzy so that means I-
I'll sign the wish well card. I feel so bad for you, I wish you the best of luck...
:ohdear: Keep it happy, pat it, play with it, give it special treats, anything to boost it's happiness and give it something to live for, this (and I have scientific proof) could well make your cat last a while longer.
I signed it...
If I had a god, I would pray to it for Izzy's safety and well-being.
A couple years ago, my brothers and I had a massive black lab/collie mix. My family decided that it would be best for him to stay at our Grandpa's cottage on a lake where we found him. He's been there for several years. About a year or two ago, he stuck his head over a snow bank when the plow came by. I feel your pain. [editline]11:48PM[/editline] Oh, and get a pic of Izzy for that Feel Better pic.
I would like to sign! I hope that Izzy get's better, and manages to live here life. :h:
I hate cats myself, they can be evil(Plus I'm allergic), but I am really sorry about you and your kitten because I hate all the dicks posting the awful jokes, and I could imagine if I had a cute puppy that had a problem like this.
A few years back we had to also put our cat down because of a heart murmur. We had her for around 5 years and she her body started shutting down. I hope your cat makes it. Losing a pet is never easy :frown:
