My mp3 point still stands even if you don't use web conversion, and youtube to my knowledge doesn't do uncompressed audio (which you'd be butchering anyway with mp3).
You're saying that MP3 files sound crap? Welcome to the 21st century bro.
If you actually studied sound technology then you would know that you're wrong about good quality from WEB CONVERSION and using mp3s in general.
Well the difference is this is just Audiophilia. There are pretty much no good portable players that play files other than mp3 and 224-320 bitrate is perfectly fine.
I just convert youtube videos to mp3's for my music...
What a shitty quality you get.
Youtube sound quality blows regardless of what video you use. Music off Spotify Free is streamed in OGG format at 160 kpbs (or 300 if you're premium); the difference from a converted MP3 off youtube is clearly audible even with cheap equipment. Hopefully this will enable those so inclined to find uncompressed albums (or just high-bitrate mp3's) easier.
A) "It's mono, it must sound like shit!"
Yeah it does if you're listening to it with earphones, or a Stereo setup with properly placed speakers.
No. You can still get some quality stuff. Trust me, I've studied sound technology for two years now
Iriathz, Ph.d in sound technology :downs:
B) No. There are websites which allow you to simply enter the url, click "convert to MP3", and after a brief wait download it.
Supply and demand among 12 year olds who can't hear the difference between a decent sound system, and a transistor radio.
Well the difference is this is just Audiophilia. There are pretty much no good portable players that play files other than mp3 and 224-320 bitrate is perfectly fine.
You're not gonna get an mp3 with 224-320 bitrates from a youtube video is my point
Wouldn't a music bay just be redundant to the regular site?
You're not gonna get an mp3 with 224-320 bitrates from a youtube video is my point
Well then I agree, but you worded it weirdly
Well the difference is this is just Audiophilia.
All players I know can play WAV (uncompressed), and you'll need a file sharing website/network to obtain that.
Even then I'm pretty sure the max bitrate that most play is 320
how did this turn into a discussion about sound quality
Because downloading audio from Youtube is the worst thing you could possibly do and it's an issue that needs to be dealt with
gee i wonder what it could be :downs:
Because downloading audio from Youtube is the worst thing you could possibly do and it's an issue that needs to be dealt with
Why would you even care
Well then I agree, but you worded it weirdly
sry
I used to download tunes from YouTube, the sound quality is beyond shit and it takes about 15 minutes per song
Just wait for spotify, it's an amazing application.
Not sure wether it is the current owners of TPB doing this or the original founders (anakata and TiAMO).. either way I'm gonna enjoy the ensued rage fest from the music industry.
I use Freecorder and playlist.com to get my music
I'm guessing this is going to be a new venue hosted by TPB for indie artists to release albums via torrent. Just a hunch. Not expecting a torrent site dedicated specifically to the illegal download of music. That'd just be insane, right?
Bandcamp already does this and it's free.
There are shit good sites around that have rock/metal music already and are dedicated to it, obscure stuff even. This will be crap, is what I suspect.
what.cd prevails [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline] get your CD-QUALITY 128KBPS RIPS from THE MUSIC BAY dot ORG
Bandcamp already does this and it's free.
An identical TPB-based service would become more successful faster on behalf of the founding organization's fame (or perhaps infamy).
could honestly be useful for unreleased songs from artists, and leaks. i'm down.
A) "It's mono, it must sound like shit!" No. You can still get some quality stuff. Trust me, I've studied sound technology for two years now.
The way your posts are sounding I doubt that very much. You need to learn more about music files, and the quality from where you get them, before you start acting smart.
Sounds promising. Hope it creates the kind of impact that brings actual talent back to the charts
I pretty much only pirate music because artists these days are so rich off their ass (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - RayvenQ))
I pretty much only pirate music because artists these days are so rich off their ass
I wouldn't post saying that in future.
I'm totally waiting for a mod to see this thread. In any case, I can finally get linux distro startup sounds! :v:
I'm totally waiting for a mod to see this thread.
I was just about to mention that. Everyone is discussing how they pirate their music. It doesn't matter if you rip it from youtube, fellas, it's still piracy. It just happens to be the most retarded and inefficient form of it. Anyways, I imagine The Music Bay will be like the music section of TPB, but with extended search parameters, so you can sort things by length, number of tracks, artist name, sound quality, etc. If it's like that, then it will probably have a new layout that's more music-oriented. I'm not sure what that would be like, but I think you get the picture. It'd also be nice if it was more for independent, unsigned artists, or at the very least, includes a section for those sorts of things.
