I want to remind everyone this game is dated to be launched in two months. Take that any way you want.
Doesn't look impressive at all imo. Instead of red jello you now get orange hexagon so real. Can't tell for sure because footage is shit but it seems like weapons feel very light and pewwy like in cod which is totally not what I want in a shooter.
It looks like Call of Duty with mechs and the ability to do some parkour stuff. I really do not like these ultra fast-paced games where you can kill someone with 2-3 shots. It always seems to be just sprint constantly and whoever sees the other person first wins because the other person won't have time to react before they're dead. Not my cup of tea, but people like it of course.
It's mediocre, but like with its similarity with CoD, it might be fun to play with the right people
The AI is pathetic, example @ 1:40. Stat padding.
That's kind of the point. They're designed to be more like creeps from MOBA games than traditional FPS AI opponents.
Everything is reminiscent of Call of Duty. Sprint, no recoil on weapons, the animations, the look and feel of how the game handles.
This game is all about fast-paced vertical movement and moment-to-moment combat, which means it has to be simple to operate. Draw whatever comparisons you like to CoD, but there are absolutely some meaningful additions to formula that really set it apart (double jumps, wall running, and titans just to name a few).
Also, 6vs6? Come on. I know there is AI, but.. That's ridiculous. Specially for PC.
More players doesn't automatically mean a better game. It's already a clusterfuck when you've got 2+ titans fighting it out; I can't imagine it would be any more fun with more.
The Mechs handle just like humans.
I don't know what you're expecting. They're bipedal machines with guns instead of bipedal bags of meat with guns.
I wouldn't call completely changing how you move around the environment a gimmick.
being able to do double jumps isn't a revolutionary gameplay change.
God controller camera movement in any first person game looks terribly limited. It's just fucking hard to look at.
being able to do double jumps isn't a revolutionary gameplay change.
That may be true, but it's still a well executed core mechanic that, among many others, sets the game apart from other popular shooters of the past couple of years.
God controller camera movement in any first person game looks terribly limited. Also, it looked like this dude had his sensitivity like all the way down.
Does this cost around $20? I couldn't see paying more than $20-$30 for it. The AI is pathetic, example @ 1:40. Stat padding. Everything is reminiscent of Call of Duty. Sprint, no recoil on weapons, the animations, the look and feel of how the game handles. The UI is a cluttered mess. Also, 6vs6? Come on. I know there is AI, but.. That's ridiculous. Specially for PC. No way anyone should pay over 20-30 dollars for this. It's just what has been rehashed for the past few years, if not further and set in a different time period. The Mechs handle just like humans. That's a pity.
Pretty much what i think about it. Not sure why everyone is so hyped about this game it just looks like a cod clone with mechs, same animations etc...
There's more: http://vimeo.com/84466681 And more: http://vimeo.com/84468470
It looks alright, the bit really blows me away is that's the Source engine. I imagine that it's highly modified, but it's still looking good for a nearly 10 year old engine.
That may be true, but it's still a well executed core mechanic that, among many others, sets the game apart from other popular shooters of the past couple of years.
The wall jumping and mechs is where it's uniqueness and originality starts and ends. It's still going to be a generic FPS with your typical cod style ranking and level up system. Literally the only differentiation is mechs and wall jumping.
That game looks like it will be good on pc, console nope
Just because an FPS has a hit-indicator, modern optics and a fast-paced gameplay doesn't make it a CoD-clone. Calling games cod-clones these days is done so often it has lost all merit.
Freedom of movement looks great, everything I wanted Brink to be, and more. Gunplay looks a bit 'who shoots first wins', doesn't take many shots to kill.

I mean, Source is finicky as shit, but it's derived from an older base of the Quake engines that Call of Duty would drive from (Half-Life from the original Quake I think, and CoD from Quake 3), so it'd probably still be very familiar territory for the devs to work with.
God controller camera movement in any first person game looks terribly limited. It's just fucking hard to look at.
Is there any word on whether it'll be out for PC or not? Because I'd buy this, but not for console.
POWER OF THE CLOUD COMPETITIVE 6V6
Whaaat. In that last clip I linked, there's an "epilogue" at the end of the match where it turns into permadeath for the losing team and they have to evacuate on a gunship presumably for some kind of bonus. That's a really cool concept IMO.
POWER OF THE CLOUD COMPETITIVE 6V6
Christ, are you really doing this? Each player's able to call down their own Titans, and there's a bunch of 'Grunts', bot soldiers that are weaker, running around to make it seem like a true battlezone. Can you imagine 16, 18, 24 or so forth players summoning Titans and making it an utter destruction clusterfuck?
Not sure how i feel about the AI being in multiplayer matches. I've always been one for small competitive matches in any multiplayer game, especially shooters. 5v5 counter-strike matches, 1v1 Quake and UT matches. Having 6 v 6 but with a shit ton of (seemingly) bad AI running around seems like a novelty that will wear off in the first few matches
I haven't followed this game at all but from the few trailers I saw there seems to be a lack of destructible environment. Now I might be wrong but that seem like a problem in a game with mechs. Again why I see the mechs in Titanfall as bigger soldiers instead of tools of destruction.
sure looks COMPETITIVE at least give the option to have a higher player count than 12
sure looks COMPETITIVE at least give the option to have a higher player count than 12
PC modders will probably increase the player count. What are the confirmed platforms for PC distribution?
I think it's Origin exclusive

Who knows how effective that might be on a real player?
Whats with the comment on the video?
Steve Bollmeer this is the future of bideo games! only on XBox One by Microsoft. If you do not yet have XBox One by Microsoft then LOL@U ... I showed it to my brother and he was like "wow bro now i've seen titanfall i'm off to bestbuy to get me one of those XBox One by Microsoft, hope there are still some in stock!! holy moley!
