London is probably one of the easiest cities to get around in aside from the fact that its quite big.
I'm not talking about the ease of getting on the underground or using the underground, it's just riding the underground itself is so frequently an unpleasant experience. And having to take it to get everywhere gets tiresome very fast.
The Underground is big and confusing.
In Glasgow it's a circle. If you miss your stop you could turn back at the next station or just sit for a while and wait for it to come back around.
Come on if you've got a map it's easy as hell.

Yeah anyone can use the underground the language barrier doesn't matter.
Don't come to Leicester, avoid the east midlands as a whole

When did I bring up the language barrier? You also didn't address my argument.
Dom't go anywhere in lancashire
Yeah don't go to the UK

during the day outside of rush hour its really not too bad. people have this idea that its always as horrendous and terrible using the tube/train outside of rush hour. just avoid rush hour and you're usually fine
Wow, thanks alot guys. Really appreciate all the help, thought this thread would go down the drain. You guys have really given me alot to think about regarding my trip. But oh boy, I've never thought planning such a trip will be this frustrating. Thanks guys!
Its a bit late, but I will update with more details regarding my travel plans. Gotta decide quick, because my officer is the one holding on to my leaves. And plane tickets ain't cheap.
Speaking of plane tickets, is it cheaper to travel by bullet train to France from UK, or by plane? I know plane is much faster, but, can you get it budget?
From where in France? Calais?
Come to Norway, and taste our national dishes.
Kebab. (p. sure this was invented here)
Taco. (Nearly every store has about 40% off for every weekend)
Pizza. (20% recognize a specific frozen pizza as a national dish)
The worlds most expensive bigmac (7.76 no menu)
And I can't understand why people hate the underground, once you understand the system and maps it's a million times easier than the bus. I mean I don't care how crowded it gets, there's no traffic jams.

And if you go to UK, get fish and chips.
Come to Sweden and eat Kebab Pizza. Can't find a better dish in the world.
back off, norway did that first
If you're going to Norway, plan a budget, then triple that budget or you won't be able to afford anything
If you come to the UK. Don't come to Norfolk in England.
Its the worst place to go on holiday ever.

Just have to remember to check the prices as some "small" stuff can be really expensive (My trip):
Taxi - You pay them for driving to your location and where you go. So it can be 2x sometimes.
Restaurant - I payed 270% more for a pizza than here .. and no drinks where included.
Beer - 74% more expensive than here. (I feel bad for you Norwegians)
Aswell as the further north you go .. the harder it get to understand the language.
Oh and don't buy food from 7eleven .. I couldn't separate the ham from the cheese in that sandwich.
Don't go to Denmark in any other season than summer, and even then it can rain.
Don't go to Norway, they lie all the time - especially about the weather. Please deposit your foreign currency here in Denmark.
Okay, change of plans. Sorry guys, but thanks for the information. Since many of you said to avoid Scandinavia, well then I have to make adjustments.
So now, the plan is to head to UK, France and Germany. Right now, my plan for UK is still rather fuzzy, I'm not too sure of places to visit, and I don't want to stay in London for too long.(What is there to do anyway?) As for France, I plan on going to Normandy, and visit WW2 historical sites, the same for Germany and UK, but I will like to have some of nature scenery as well. I'm alright with city life/cityscape as well.
Also, here are some additional information to update:
-Turns out I have about 17 days total, and minus the roughly 2 days of flying, that leaves me with about 15 days to go around. Is it enough?
-My brother is having holidays in Dec, would it be better to travel in Oct rather than Dec?
-I'm planning on couchsurfing/crashing at hostels/anyone nice enough to give me cheaper rent or free stays because I want to save money and avoid hotels, so If anyone here is nice enough to give me some space, please tell me.
-And if any of you are nice enough to be guides, that'll be nice too.
-Language wise, is it better to speak in English, especially travelling in France or Germany? I've heard stories about tourist using those guide books, and bad things happening, so would it be better off to just speak English instead?
-Is Octoberfest really worth the hype to go there for travel?(I'm probably planning on Munich as well)
-Is the White Cliffs of Dover worth the journey to travel?
And right now, I'm not going to bother about my budget concerns for now, I'll plan that later, but I'm avoiding taking taxis(unless needed) or hotels. So suggest anything.
As for October, I'm looking at somewhere like 24 Oct - 14 Nov.
Thanks, alot guys! Love ya!
When in london, go to Whirl-y-gig
if you drop by Tallinn, let me know and we'll have a pint

Thanks, but I have no idea if it'll be convenient enough to head there. If yes, I'll love to! I surely wouldn't mind!
When going to Sweden. And if you are hungry for hamburger. I recommend to try anything else than McDonalds and Burger King. My experience with them were terrible.
Try with "Max", it may be expensive compared to similar fast food chains, but cheaper than your average restaurant and their burgers are really good, better than other chains.
There aren't really many WW2 sights in the UK, as there weren't any battles here. However, there are a few military places. In Dover they have the War Rooms where D-Day was planned, and there's also a tank museum in Bovington if you happened to be travelling to the South West and are really interested in tanks.
Go to Southampton, it's the best place - really!! :downs:
try and avoid chavs
Come to Norwich, we have lots of pretty sights!
16 quid on the train from London, no problem.
Give it a google search, tons of castles, old city walls, lots of winding medieval streets, markets and all that. Not too much of a tourist trap either so you can enjoy the experience.
Don't go to Denmark in any other season than summer, and even then it can rain.
Just stay away from Denmark all together.
Even if it was summer it wouldn't be worth the trip compared to the people on the other side who has the better nature.
I can recommend Bornholm as a place to go though.
London is the tits, lived here my whole life and love it to bits. Don't miss out on visiting

Girl I know from Berlin loves Copenhagen, wouldn't say Denmark is all bad.
Come to Finland, and enjoy the Nordic delicacy: Kebab!
There are like 8 different Kebab-restaurants on my 2,6km walk home from work so it's gotta be some kind of finnish cultural thing, right?
