Did some more recording and some mixing. My next to steps are making the vocals work and added a new part. [img_thumb]http://tindeck.com/image/qllu/stats.png[/img_thumb] After the first chorus note the voices with the phone conversation. If somebody wants to help me out it'd be nice if you could record one of those parts. I'm having a hard time sounding like someone else.
Great work.. well done.
My drummer friend is coming over today(sunday), or I will be going to his place. So hopefully we will get some stuff down.
I really hope that you have incredibly decent recording gear, because I know for sure that I don't. and I feel very poor when comparing my low rate recordings to digital HiFi stuff.
Smarked Prelude. [editline]15th March 2011[/editline] Informative.
Those are really awesome ideas, especially the second one. Shame that the voice on one of the speeches in the second was distorted a lot, but other than that... keep it up. :buddy:
Goddamn why is Soundcloud always down?
I'd love to contribute to this. I'm just unsure of how this works exactly, I've always liked the way concept albums seem to flow, but if different people write the songs that will be tough without some kind of guidelines. Are there any genre restrictions? Because I was thinking of attempting Zing, and I can only hear funk in my head :v:
There aren't genre restrictions, you can make whatever as long as it fits the rating you had in mind :v:
Well we've had tonnes of songs thrown at us. When we pick a final selection, we'll put it together with songs that are conceptually the strongest. Doesn't mean to say it's musically strongest, we can have an outtakes album too :smug: [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] Still need some tracks final and processed in high quality. :3:
My song will be finished by Friday. I still need some people to record a few vocals parts. If you look at my WIP version somewhere above you can get the gist of what it needs to be. [editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
When we pick a final selection, we'll put it together with songs that are conceptually the strongest.
I can easily see running into the issue where there are two separate, yet valid interpretations. In that scenario, should quality be the primary factor?
I can easily see running into the issue where there are two separate, yet valid interpretations. In that scenario, should quality be the primary factor?
Depends. :3:
argh i haven't even started yet
argh i haven't even started yet
Loadsa time. :v:
The only rush is for the anticipation of the next concept album :smug:
I blew up with ideas of the Smug album. :smug:
Or Shine My Underpants, God. :smug:
I actually like my idea :S
Well ofcourse you do, its your idea.
I like it Clovis :buddy: I recognise it What's the reference?
I don't see how that is a weakness in any way.
:v: I see what he means but it is SUPER PROG to not use vocals and let the instruments do the sounds etc
Didn't know The War Of The Worlds musical by Jeff Wayne was SUUPER PROOG :v:
These concept albums have one weakness. [sp]We don't have a vocalist.[/sp] :ohdear:
I've got vocals on my track.
All tracks posted have been awesome. That is all that matters. :smug:
Well it is Friday and I don't have it finished. my girlfriend decided she wanted to hang out with me yesterday, and of course family is coming over soon.
Anyways, I'd love to use samples, but I dont have the masters for every song ever. Anyone know good master track sources or anything along those lines?
What are you talking about?
Hip hop artists use samples all the time, but manage to do so of the vocals without the instruments
I only know that there are some separated tracks on youtube, but the songs would've had to have been on Rock Band Or Guitar Hero.
Hip hop artists use samples all the time, but manage to do so of the vocals without the instruments
Yeah, they were good, but the vocal sample was too loud on one. Try to even it out and use headphones to make it. Nothing wrong with sampling at all.
I should make a song with the vocals consisting entirely of samples :psyduck:
What about a song where the lyrics are all from other songs (abeit a bit altered) and the music is all sampled? /namedropofobscureband
Okay, I think we have around 5 or 6 finalized tracks here, but we should have enough to put the album together. Just gonna say that there are still spaces for people to try out stuff. Post what you can.
This will be the track I'm submitting. Spent about a work working on the vocals and decided that it isn't going to work without another week or two practicing it. So I just put the demo vocals back in and am calling it good.
A demo of improvisation over a random chord progression I came up with that may or may not be developed into a full song. The guitar has a Comfortably Numb-like tone. It may be just me, but that seemed like a depressive song rather than something like this How would you feel if it went with Friendly instead of smarked? It would be fine if it went with friendly. Just would need a different title than smarked to avoid confusion. I guess I could say that I was going for two different concepts in a song.
Put the complete tracks in the op
Will do, soon :smug:
