[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/nimeton.PNG[/img_thumb] What if we made the track list look like the actual ratings? i whipped that up just to show the basic idea, I'll make rest of them when I get home.
We should go with this. So pretty :v:
much appreciated! I'll do the rest later on, better go with akayz's advice. I also made some small little changes to Informative. It's almost a minute long now! :woop: [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] this time i mixed it with my headphones on, no more messy echoing all over the place
Good work, kalkka. Keep that up :buddy:
Good work, kalkka. Keep that up :buddy:
I concur. It was quite enjoyable to listen to, I wouldn't mind more :buddy:
Hopefully we get some more tryers over the next few days.
I did a 7-minute piano improv AND MANAGED TO RECORD IT but the Aux cable I used with the keyboard is about 10 years old so the quality isn't amazxing, and it is quite experimental
I did a 7-minute piano improv AND MANAGED TO RECORD IT but the Aux cable I used with the keyboard is about 10 years old so the quality isn't amazxing, and it is quite experimental
Could've still posted it! :buddy: If it's a distortion problem we can solve that.
HEY HEY HEY that's my territory :saddowns:
Let's see who makes the best one then :v: Or we could split the track
I did a 7-minute piano improv AND MANAGED TO RECORD IT but the Aux cable I used with the keyboard is about 10 years old so the quality isn't amazxing, and it is quite experimental
lo-fi is awesome, so it could work even though the quality isn't super. :smug:
Couldn't be bothered waiting for the other one to upload so I made another quick recording to show you what the quality is like, and what range of piano sounds I would be producing in this track: I reduced some of the distortion by simply turning the keyboard volume down, but I don't want it too quiet. I also applied a remove noise filter to cut out the hissing from the recording.
Bit mental, but good. :buddy: Maybe if the volume was lower on the keyboard you would've got a better recording, but oh well.
brutal as fuck at the end there
One idea I came up with for late. Would it be okay?
-snip- HOLY DOUBLE POSTS BATMAN can't rate self dumb, please help
it sounds good, but i hope you're going to add lyrics to it, because otherwise it wouldn't really be late :v:
One idea I came up with for late. Would it be okay?
I'm not sure how it fits with the theme of lateness Perhaps a ticking clock on the drum track? v:v:v
it sounds good, but i hope you're going to add lyrics to it, because otherwise it wouldn't really be late :v:
I can't sing shit so I'll just have to come up with some other late stuff. Maybe a really vintage string orchestra or something? Or maybe a huge clock tick clusterfuck :buddy:
clock blastbeats lololo
clock blastbeats lololo
holy fukc less do this
Have a clock solo, where all the other instruments go quiet, then you just hear a "tick... tick... tick..." slowly followed by other ticking noises, slightly out of sync with each other, all building up until you get a clusterfuck of tickings, maybe a couple of bells and cuckoo sounds, before going back into the main music, but with the clusterfuck slightly quieter, so you can hear it but it doesn't really distract from the rest of the song
:smug:
Didn't think of that :v: That's sort of what I was getting at, but more focused on the ticking noise than the alarms and whistles and stuff. Having loads of ticking sounds, all at slightly different pitches and different volume levels, to simulate there being loads of clocks.
Start with a simple focus. "Late" can be about a lot of things rather than just a clock ticking. I think Pink Floyd perfected that notion anyway. The way I went about my "useful" song was simply creating an atmospheric "factory" or machinery sounding place and then the simple repeated lyrics were put in the background to give the workers a boost. Once you grasp the simpleness of the idea, then it becomes more complex when you understand what you can do with it. It doesn't have to be musically amazing, if the concept is strong enough then it shouldn't matter. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] I'm not particularly musically oriented anyway. :v:
I still think a ticking clock as the beat would be pretty damn cool
First concept, then music! :eng101: But yeah, the clock thing would be cool. But emphasize the "lateness". I think trying to not be late aspect could work with the music really well. If you concentrate more on what you are trying tell rather than musically, then you are less likely to get pissed off. Remember that.
Wow guys. These are really good tips. Thanks :buddy:
Thinking about using this for Friendly.
More "winner" than "friendly". :buddy: Oh yeah that was your original plan!
