This thread and that site are bringing the " Dawwwwww" out of everyone ^_^
A few of them got me, but this one really hit hard
A few weeks ago, a senior at my school was hit by a car while walking home with a few of his friends. It turns out that, at the last second, he pushed his friends out of the way. In that accident, he was killed. Nobody else was hurt, thanks to him. People like him GMH. RIP Travis
I actually like this website.
During WWII, my family's home in Western Russia was pillaged by the German Army. After the fall of communism, an elderly man showed up to the now rebuilt house. He told my grandmother that he was a former German soldier, and he wanted to return the jewelry he stole from the house. Men like him GMH!
Wow.
a few of these actually brought a tear to my eye. [editline]08:11PM[/editline] Yeah, these are too sad and some happy but sad
These make me sad ): I really do hope they are not fake. What kind of person would post fake stories on a site like this?
Nice to see that humanity can do such things like these. Such as the World War II russian one posted above. Even in war happiness can come out of it.
FML is funnier. Well, what FML does, it gives us a chance to laugh at ourselves. Everyone has had at least several FML moments before, but a website like this might not appeal so much. Well, it's better than mylifeistwilight.com, of course, but that's another story.
Today, I found GMH. After reading all the heartwarming stories, I walked into my room, and tore my suicide journal to shreds. I'm shaking out of happiness. GMH.
Wait... suicide journal?
A long time ago, I went to see a band at a small club in Chicago, the band was unknown and broke. After the show, they scraped up enough money to go and buy fast food for all the homeless men near the club. The band? Fall Out Boy. Good karma GMH.
Whoa. All right, FOB, I'll give you that.
Whoa. All right, FOB, I'll give you that.
Yeah I wasn't expecting that.
I had my students write a paper about who they admired most. They had to read their papers out loud. One girl chose to write about her friend that had recently committed suicide. She started crying in the middle of reading her paper. Two boys, one of whom was very shy, ran to the front of the class and hugged her... in front of everybody. Boys like these GMH

Once at a college party, some 15 year old girls showed up. They got really drunk, and one of them started stripping on the dance floor. Seeing other guys eyeing her, some boys put their jackets around her and took her home. Strangers caring GMH.
Way to ruin the party.
A boy was dying of cancer and needed an expensive brain surgery, but his family, broke and desperate, couldn't afford it. His 8 yr old took sister Tess took her piggy bank savings to a pharmacist in order to buy a 'miracle'. it just so happens that the right man witnessed the little girl's tears at the pharmacy counter: a neurosurgeon. He performed the surgery for free.
:v:
Whoa. All right, FOB, I'll give you that.
What the hell, I was going to quote that. but yeah it's rather heartwarming
Last year, I was going to kill myself. I wrote a note and slipped it into my best friend's locker at school. That night, I was preparing to die, when she crawled through my window and kissed me. My first real kiss. Kristain, I know you read GivesMeHope all the time. Will you marry me?
fuck this site fuck this site I am crying so hard :frown: [editline]05:56PM[/editline]
22 years ago, a 16 year old girl was pregnant with a baby of rape. Understanding the circumstances, her parents told her to abort or be disowned. Her best friend - her 18 year old neighbor - although he was not the father, stepped into the father figures shoes. They got married 2 years later. Mom and dad, your love for me and each other GMH.
what the fuuuck :frown:
fuck this site fuck this site I am crying so hard :frown:
I wasn't sobbing but yeah I was shedding quite a few tears. Sad website. Makes me respect the human race alot. It's hard to think there are good people out there sometimes.

In it, I proposed to my long time friend who helped me curve my desire to commit suicide. She said yes. We are getting married this summer. Life is too precious to give up. Thanks, Kristain. Thank you for giving me life. GMH.
:3:
Brilliant site. I feel all good inside now. Hard to believe last night I was crying. Some of these people are just...wow. GMH GMH.
Today was a good read
Today, I took one of the children I work with to have to McDonalds. The child is 7 years old, autistic, has fetal alcohol syndrome and lives in a shelter with his grandmother. Aware he was hungry, I asked him why he hadn't eaten his food and he smiled and answered "I want to take it home to share it with my grandma." GMH
After Twilight was released unto the public, this GMH.
This is crazy. Reading stories about guys who got hugged by their friends and it changed their life for the best, or about kids who were ready to commit suicide and got messages from their friends saying they were the best friends they ever had makes you think. It makes you think that one, just one act of kindness towards someone can change the course of their life forever. It's really a fantastic thing.
this site made me cry

Chinese fur trade (Beavers are skinned alive and set on fire on video whilst they scream in agony), Pain Olympics, Dmenstropovsk Maniacs video (don't watch this), and anything else you can conceive. I'm gonna be completely honest, though, even though it's likely some of these are fake, I've shed quite a few tears looking through them. The greatest of political speeches can't sway me like these pieces can. GMH gives me hope.
22 years ago, a 16 year old girl was pregnant with a baby of rape. I was at the mall the other day when I saw an old couple sitting together. The man looked over at the woman and said, "Jane, we did it. We grew old together." The look in her eyes GMH. That one hit me, hard.
I really hate to say this, but I shed a tear from some of these stories, whether or not they are fake.
eugh i can't stop reading these, they're so good.
My 7 year old brother is autistic and has a very hard time with fine motor skills so he was held back. But one day over the weekend he sat at the table for two hours trying to string beads into a bracelet all by himself. The reason? He loves a little girl in his class named Cindy because she plays with him. His love and her kindness GMH

In high school, there was a man who every day sat on his mobile scooter and waved to every car that passed. Touched by his kindness, I decided to bake him cookies. When I delivered them, I realized he couldn't speak as a result of a past stroke. Instead, he kissed me on the cheek to show his thanks. He died 3 years ago. His kindness still GMH.
