Long answer: No but be prepared to spend a shitload of cash on paint, brushes, the figures...
Meh, I was just thinking of getting a few figures to display but if it costs a shitload then fuck it.
You can paint them with a steady hand, but don't expect results you see on the boxes.
painting is fine, it just costs a ridiculous amount.
I love 40k. It doesn't cost as much as people say it does. If you live in England, they are much cheaper from what I've heard.
It's a hobby. You get used to it after a while.

We have inflation in America up the ass, that's probably why it's really expensive here
It isn't too expensive if you run the numbers up. Then you notice all you payed for was a mass produced plastic figure. That's when it hits you.
