if there's no metagame to it, why even have multiple classes at all? if what you are describing is an absolute priority surely it would be much easier to just give everyone equal stats and weapons most class-based games have this thing where one class is a "counter" to the other, but no class is a jack of all trades if you get what I mean. This way choosing the right class based on what the opponent have is a bit of a skill in itself I guess it's just a matter of different approach
I'm just explaining Xephio's desires However I don't share his opinions. [editline]7th November 2015[/editline] probably should've put scare quotes around "balance". Sure do love my scare quotes.
Looks like a good game and good enough characters to have fun making costumes for Comic Conventions. I already want that "BAMF" belt from McCree.
Not trying to view-whore or anything but you know that part of the outro? http://gfycat.com/UntimelyGloomyBudgie Yeah, that part. Well it felt a lot like Smash Bros. so I decided to make a video of it because this trailer was pretty damn good.
I really wish they went for a stronger overarching style aka TF2, these "heroes" feel really scattered.
Honestly if the characters had a definitive style linking them together, rather than this hubdub of random media references, I'd be a lot more interested in the game.
I really wish they went for a stronger overarching style aka TF2, these "heroes" feel really scattered.
I think thats the idea. Theyre all from extremely different backgrounds so they all have their own style and since the game doesnt use team coloring theyre not very uniform. The 2 characters with a similair origin(Junkrat and Roadhog are from Australia turned Mad Max) have a consistent style. Destroyox's SSB comparison is actually really accurate in that sense.
I really, really, really don't like the generic one-liners these characters say. Doesn't really give them any personality and just makes the characters feel like they were ripped from your average MOBA game. So far that's my only complaint. The game itself looks kinda fun.
the aesthetic seems really generic and bland. So many different characters, might end up as a clusterfuck of 1000 abilities and shit going on at the same time. Already TF2 is pretty confusing in the heat of battle, but this seems like it might be able to push that to 11. Doesn't seem the least bit more interesting than any other fps on the market, but that could be just me.
-Not Lost Planet girl
Not sure if you're referring to the ice character or the one who has a mech, but lost planet hardly holds a monopoly on either of these themes.

For a game that is extremely fast paced like this you need things like silhouettes and sharp color contrast for both teams for it to work. I feel like the game is just doing too much at once. The art style isn't that different from previously done games like Sanctum or Global Agenda. [editline]7th November 2015[/editline] And someone mentioned counters and such in TF2 but you have to remember that while some characters might have direct counters to certain classes, they also have soft counters and weaknesses to those same classes. The demoman can sticky spam but those stickies leave and take a second before they can be blown up giving the Engineer time to clear them out. The spy might counter the heavy and sniper but the spy can also take out every other class rather efficiently. Pyros are great at ambush. The classes for TF2 weren't considered for countering each other, but instead considered for their playstyles they'd fit.
i haven't been keeping up but ferk yeh i love fucking cowboys and robot ninja's even though they're so over done
You may wanna check your grammar there.
You may wanna check your grammar there.
What's wrong with it?
I'm a little disappointed by how many of Overwatch's characters are just a reference to a movie or game. I was hoping for a few more original designs because I like the ones that are. But so far we're at: -Not Lost Planet girl -Totally not Raiden -Not Clint Eastwood -Not Mitsurugi But if the supers don't play as OP as they look I'd be down for playing this. Looks fun.
Don't forget the not-tachikoma
