I wonder if Budd was innocent.
Innocent people don't kill themselves in the face of trial, odd that he didn't confess before he did it though.
One of the men who testified against him, later admitted lying under oath to try to get a more lenient sentence.

I don't have much information on this picture, but it shows German soldiers having a snow ball fight in a supply yard.

Know it's a bit late, but just wanted to say it's called Dirty Lightning, and at Eyjafjallajokull, it was one of the few times it has actually been photographed.
It is such an interesting eruption to study from a Geologists point of view, and it's impact very different most other volcanoes. We could be seeing a repeat or much worse of the events in 2010, as neighboring Katla is known to erupt soon (on a geological timescale) after Eyjafjallajokull.
I did a report on Eyjafjallajokull at the start of the year for Geology, had that as my phone background for months now :v:

It was part of senator life insurance, because technically he died on the job or something.

I think more importantly, it was to make a point. Otherwise why did he call the press conference and plan out his suicide in the way he did?
He consistently stated that he had been framed and that the US justice system was seriously flawed to allow him to be punished for something he didn't do. You just have to read his speech in the wikipedia article.
The United States Invasion of Panama, code-named Operation Just Cause, was the invasion of Panama by the United States in December 1989.
During the invasion, de facto Panamanian leader, general, and dictator Manuel Noriega was deposed, president-elect Guillermo Endara sworn into office, and the Panamanian Defense Force dissolved.

Probably one of the most famous pictures of the Vietnam War, an injured soldier returns to his position to see his friend lying dead on the ground.

I doubt it, but it appears they could no-clip through signs.

I think this picture of the Castle Romeo test is probably the most famous and reproduced of all the US nuclear weapons tests.
I don't know what it is about Atomic Weapons thats so amazing...
Maybe it's the fact that for all it's destructive might, it's a peacekeeper. It stops wars with the threat of it's might. I'll say this now. If the government regulated small tests[like miniature nuclear weapons being used to destroy model towns in a controlled enviorment] I would pay to see it.
