The Taliban were hiding and working with Alqueda leaders, apparently they were also pretty brutal to the Afghan civilians. With the whole Wahabism thing. They have the courage to stand up and fight for their country, even if they don't think the cause is just or not. I don't agree with the wars the US has been fighting in recent years. If it were up to me we would have gone about the whole Afghanistan situation entirely differently, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't respect the men who fought those wars any less because of it.
The leaders of Al Qaeda were the leaders of the Taliban.

I had to speak about it in my most recent German oral exam, and ended up concluding that life probably was better before the Wall came down.

For example, the sources that we studied all seemed to say that if you wanted a job then you could have one- something quite far from the situation that we have today.

Why was he in a stand-off with the police? What did he do?
Why was he in a stand-off with the police? What did he do?
Something involving him being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and medical care, I'll try to find better info. [editline]30th May 2012[/editline] Here it is
April 30, 1998 – Daniel V. Jones, a cancer and HIV-positive patient apparently frustrated with his HMO coverage, ended a live televised stand-off with police on a Los Angeles freeway by committing suicide, shooting himself in the chin with a shotgun. The event, which took place on a Thursday afternoon, was witnessed by many children whose after-school cartoons had been interrupted in order to broadcast the incident, which originally began as a high-speed pursuit, and led many to criticize Los Angeles television stations' practice of airing police pursuits live

I don't understand. Why were they fighting and why was the crowd cheering?
Hockey is like that... i don't know why.
The only professional sport I can recall that encourages fighting, and the fighting isn't central to the sport.
As the old saying goes.. "I went to a fight but a hockey game broke out"
I don't understand. Why were they fighting and why was the crowd cheering?
Been a while since this happened, so I might be wrong, but from what my dad told me when I was younger when we saw this. Earlier in the season or the season before, the Avalanche player that got his shit kicked in checked a Red wings player into the boards from behind and broke his jaw so bad that he had to eat through a straw for quite a while. So the next time the Wings saw the Avalanches a fight immediately broke out so they could get revenge, and I think they did a pretty kick ass job. Last good fight in hockey, sucks they don't let stuff like this happen anymore.
