Few more Hurricane Sandy photos. Let me know if these aren't relevant and I won't post any more of them.
Too bad the photo's from september.

An image that has been shared by many on social media is one of soldiers guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; it's purported to have been taken during the storm. In actuality, though, the photo was taken back in September.
well shucks

I enjoy those pictures of the Allied leaders. I like how FDR is always in the middle, presumably because Churchill and Stalin hated each other. Still, it's a fine statement of companionship and friendship between nations.
Except Stalin was feared and resented by both Churchil and FDR. It was hardly a 'friendship' considering none of them were friends, but rather forced allies.
Wow, really? I knew Churchill hated him, but not Roosevelt too. I seem to remember Roosevelt writing to Churchill saying "Stalin hates the guts of all your top people. He thinks he likes me better, and I hope he will continue to do so."
honestly if the brits had just held onto norway at the beginning of the war, germany would not have had the steel to build it's war machines and WWII would have been over in like a year, sure poland would still be under germany's boot, but with the war stalled, germany's economy would be in freefall and hitler would be ousted again like the Weimar Republic before him, thats the history they don't teach, WWII was practicly won by the french and brits, but instead of pushing ahead and strangling germany's economy, they pulled their forces out of norway and sent them to france for defence of a land invasion, which allowed the germans time to limp back into norway and reestablish its supply lines, steel production, and heavy water production. the brits would send in commando raids into norway for the rest of the war, but they never would gain the foothold they had at the beginning of the war

I presume that is the part of Queens that burned to the ground. You should still describe what it is in the post - people might not know, even if it has been in the news.

Kim Jong-Il came into power in 1994? Shit, I thought he was around since at least the late 70s, early 80s.
Kim Jong-Il came into power in 1994? Shit, I thought he was around since at least the late 70s, early 80s.
It's easy to be confused of year when dealing with a country that's been in the 1960s for 50 years straight, but yeah, Il became supreme leader in '94.
On the subject of Korea
This U.S. Army photograph, once classified "top secret", is one of a series depicting the summary execution of 1,800 South Korean political prisoners by the South Korean military at Taejon, South Korea, over three days in July 1950. Historians and survivors claim South Korean troops executed many civilians behind frontlines as U.N. forces retreated before the North Korean army in mid-1950, on suspicion that they were communist sympathizers and might collaborate with the advancing enemy.
