The majority of people who "know so much about EVE" just played the trial and started mining, experiencing such a small part of the game. It's also ridiculously intimidating at first and as a new player you almost always get dragged into 10-man corps run by dictatorships and egotistical CEO's. The real fun comes in when you get a group of close friends and fuck around, kill shit, eat donuts. Though I am a fan of BP, and have been following since the early releases, I'm not so much a fan of the First-person control system and direct flight, which is why I kinda gave up on it.

The only thing that got me to keep playing is the graphics, while I was waiting for my character to take 50 years to log in. I was told after doing the tutorial, that the servers were too overloaded to put people in the real world after they had done it. I had to re-do my character again, which I had perfectly constructed all my own. The skill-queue means you don't have to grind anything, and since they changed the learning skills recently everyone trains [I]alot[/I] faster. They also upped the graphics again, looks amazing on the dual-monitor settings. (They opted for draggable window sizes rather than standard resolutions). I'm just trying to clear out alot of misconceptions about the game. People really don't give it much of a chance when they explore the most boring and least intense parts of it, and it's a really good game, though not for everyone (As you've shown quite well :v:)

Sure graphics are awesome (and unoptimized) and the combat system is okay (nothing compared to X thou) but it's an empty game.

Spaceship vs. Spaceship combat and you can board enemy ships in first person (runny shooty like any usual fps).

I like how people think that everyone who doesn't like EVE due to how long it takes to do everything either have ADD or is simple minded. Maybe you simply don't have Aspergers. I'm not saying everyone who plays EVE has Aspergers, I'm saying that the same way it isn't true, not everyone who gets bored at games that require too much time have ADD or are simple minded.

Not really. He makes extremely significant progress every year. I expect an alpha by mid next year.

There was a closed beta a while ago. It was pretty fun; something I may seriously consider buying in the future.
