He's not posting, he's trying to find some weakness in my argument and exploit it, like a little mole. he knows i'm right, but his pride is to large to admit it.
Ryan, your arguments are invaild, insulting and pointless. You continue to accuse EvE players to have Autism, and playing it almost 24/7. Yet WoW, the game you love, has one of the most addicted and obsessive player bases ever. None of your augments make any sense. For an example, if i go hunting in the woods, spent 5 minutes sitting on my ass and then Lavern and proceed to tell everyone how shit hunting is, you entirety missed the point. Not all games are about instant gratification and rewards.
EvE is a game that you use your brains to play, not just click f4 for an ultra attack from your level 85 Hunter that you spent 50 hours grinding up 1 level, instead of clicking a button and going out on a date, or going to the movies with friends. You acuse us of having addiction problems, look at yourself. Eve allows us to be good, without spending ungodly amounts of time in the game.
Ok for starters, cite a source for this "most addicted playerbase" comment, secondly you're comparing a video game to hunting. One's a physical sport the other is sitting in a chair for entertainment; huge difference and a stupid comparison! Clearly you haven't took time to even play wow, I've played eve and my opinion is informed.
All your arguments are based on opinions, not fact's. While many people don't play, it's because they get frustrated and quit. The learning curve of EVE keeps assholes like you out. You probably wondered into low-sec and got killed by some guy in a Drake. Then you decided that you wanted to leave the game. And continue playing the carebear MMO that is WoW. A real person, the one that EVE wants to let in. Would have Though up an ingenious way to Gank the Pirate with his corporation. Proving that his brains eventually killed the pirate, and not his brawn.
No actually I understood the game up until the point I stopped playing because it wasn't fun at all. I never got killed by anyone it's because to be honest the first few hours of that game were tenfold more painful than the longest grinds in WoW. Not because apparently I don't fit the intelligence quota (I understood the game perfectly, talk about bein elitist) but because it simply was not appealing to me as a video game. Don't get me wrong if I wanted I could probably sit and grind that shit out but the effort isn't worth the result.
The butterfly effect, Is also unique to EVE. Unlike WoW, when you find the missing parts for Tom the goblin for the 836Th time, your actions have meaning. You go out and make say, 500 rounds of ammo. That Ammo was then brought by a massive corporation, who was about to teenage in a massive 500 player battle. That corp then won the battle, thanks to the extra ammo brought by that one person, that he used town to take down many more opponents. Turning the tide of EVE and its market forever.
You have no understanding of WoW's market, this is all fair and easy but WoW's market deals similarily through the auction house. The idea you even try to say this is unique to eve is laughable.
Now this thread is about Dark prophecy. I reckon it looks good, its different to EVE and has almost no relation to it. it may be an attempt to copy EVE, but i might be wrong.
lol, tl;dr kill yourself for being so uninformed
[editline]27th December 2010[/editline]
EVE does not dump you anywhere in the game, they send you to a starter system of your chosen character's race, WITH the ship for your race, and two guns. They are used as either mining, or shooting targets. They give you an enemy to shoot at and tell you how to shoot at it. After reading a few tutorials, they even give you some agents to seek out missions with. When you click on the menus and utilize them, it shows you how those menus work. Just blatantly insulting EVE as to saying "it aint a game" and then referring to WoW makes you look like a dick, and that you're a religious fan boy (OH FANBOYISM INCOMING). Eve isn't intuitive, because it says "Here, you can do whatever the fuck you want".
Based on your information, you haven't read about the new commissioned officers edition, which basically reduces your training time by a godly amount. They put you, literally, in one server (Which happens to be one of the most powerful servers in the world) 50,000 or so players at one time, where you can have battles with more than 1500 people at once. The game uses a market system unlike any other, I would say it's one of the most innovative MMOs out there. The lore includes a moral which is very important to modern day mankind, War. So let me say this, what kind of logical argument have you stated, other than saying "WoW doesn't do this".
You also leave your self at blame for dragging on about it, then trying to save your ass from another argument by basically kissing the mod's asses by "making a request".
So yeah we're agreed then it dumps you, tells you how everything works and by the end of it you're left thinking wow this game is fucking boring. If the games about pvp why's there no mention of it anywhere; no initiation into it. It's unintuitive because as a video game it lacks elements which makes it playable; not because it's a method of filtering out people from playing it (ludicrous that you think any company wants their hard work to go to waste) but because the devs are lazy.
No, actually what you said was
wow doesnt dump u in the middle of nowhere
I feel bad for you that you can't remember anything.
No, actually what you said was

WoW doesn't try the starter zones, they're actually fun! I was more referring to "EVE does not dump you anywhere in the game." I feel bad for you that you can't keep track of anything, shame buddy! Next time I'd like an actual response and not some stupid quirky thing, or is this Eve's playerbase's idea of winning an argument? lol.
[editline]27th December 2010[/editline]
BTW if that's how you feel about WoW I thought the learning curve of EVE was so advanced you'd grasp it easily. funny.
what have i done....
My prediction came true. First, a person DIED while playing WoW. DIED. He was so addicted he forgot about his bodily functions and needs.
Second, the comparison is about patience, not about the sport itself. Its something you don't have. I don't want to play WoW. Many people at my school play WoW. And they are all massive faggots. I don't want to waste my download limit on a shit game. You mention that you played EvE. You played the free trial. Not the full game. That's not informed. If you did buy the subscription, you sad you stopped playing. EvE's better off without you, a good 99% of the community would be better off without you.
Thirdly, that's just an opinion. I can't argue against that. You don't seem to realize that. Also, grind the shit, you don't grind in EVE. You Click a button, saving you hours or even days of doing the same repetitive thing over and over again. Explain to me how killing a boar for the 15 thousandth time is fun? The result is a good feeling that ratifies a mans basic human instinct. The lust for power, wealth and Women. Not all of us can get that in real life, i'm not going to become king of England tomorrow, but i can control the fate of another person in a virtual world. That's the chief reason Video games are so fun. That's what makes it fun. Euphoria is realized when ever one of these needs are satisfied, and most sports where you dominate an enemy team are fun, because you exercise a for of power over them. And that's why losing sucks so bad. Euphoria=Fun. Power=Fun. That's why EVE is fun. That's also why it chases away people who won't work for power, and they run towards easier games like WoW, where you always get spoon fed.
Lastly Auction house is an auction, Eve's marketplace is a real life market, where prices go up and down according to the number of people making or gaining them. In Wow, If a certain item disappears, No one gives a fuck. It doesn't change anything. If a player buys the exulted sword of Kaldarda and decimates with it. Nothing happens. The monsters just spawn again. In Eve, if you decimate, a alliance could loose valuable resource causing them to collapse. Driving up the prices of the primary manufactured good, eg Oxygen. Without access to cheap oxygen, many stations can't afford the upkeep and the go offline and many people loose bases and so on.
Finally, you call Me uninformed, while you have never played eve for more then 14 days. I also noticed how you could not form a rebuttal against my Butterfly effect argument. How sad.
This why you should always use a condom ladies and gentlemen.
I just wish Microsoft put its money into Allegiance and not Starlancer.
Surely that would have made Freelancer less likely to exist? And we can't have that.
EVE's problem is certainly not how open and flexible it is. It's how unengaging the core mechanics are.
I can sorta understand the point and click though, a single persistent server with no limits is bound to be a lagfest waiting to happen. Twitch is simply not an option for them.
My prediction came true. First, a person DIED while playing WoW. DIED. He was so addicted he forgot about his bodily functions and needs.

Clearly you've never went hunting and experienced the excitement, EVE lacks this which makes it shit. I don't give a flying micky fuck about the people who play wow in your school, you even refuse to play wow yet still judge it, real mature buddy! And even if I did play the free trial, doesn't that make it worse? The part of a game which reels people in is the demo, fucking sucks eve devs are too lazy to make at least that part exciting eh?

Hilarious I press buttons to grind in WoW as well? maybe they aren't so different? I'm not even gonna bother replying to the heap of bollocks that is the middle section of your paragraph. Any sports I play I meet my opponents on a level head, I don't feel better than someone because I can click buttons better. You've never played WoW yet insist it's a constant grind then claim it to be easy and it spoon feeds you? Lol.

Fuck you're dumb holy shit. The butterfly effect, is a trait of any market; supply and demand are also a trait of any market. Maybe you can comment on this once you've done a little but of actual economics yourself.
Finally, you call Me uninformed, while you have never played eve for more then 14 days. I also noticed how you could not form a rebuttal against my Butterfly effect argument. How sad.

I can't stress the validity of the first statement enough, however the point and click suits EVE's almost torturingly slow pace.

If the point of those arguments is to show how little you and your eve buddies know about both economics and human nature, no it didn't!
Take up this argument in PM's guys, not in this thread, its getting old people spewing verbal diarrhea at one another.
hi it's a pvp game pve is there to fund your pvp, the game isn't about shooting red dots you know :') (it is easy to make this mistake coming from WoW to EVE))
also i like your ad hominem arguments loL
Oh.
That'd explain why I never much cared for EVE then. I'm not a big PVP person. Never have been into it when it comes to MMOs. I'm more of a do-missions-get-money-get-better-ship person. EVE was fun, but I didn't feel it was fun enough to pay for.
It was nice though. On the third or fourth day of my 14-day trial, someone gave me a cruiser for free. I have to admit, it made the game a lot funner. Railguns. Railguns everywhere. :v:
[editline]fish[/editline]
On topic: I've seen a few people say that apparently Black Prophecy isn't that good? Would anyone care to elaborate on that a bit?
Basically it's an X3 MMO with less features. Also, if you don't live in or near Germany don't bother playing.
Why it works like a charm for me, I love the game, and im in the usa.

You still avoid talking abut the finer points of EVE, and you have then since cleaned up your grammar, showing how self conscious and emotionally insecure you are. You have also descended into basic flaming in order to prove our point, arguing with you is pointless, because its like arguing to a brick wall. No matter how much you talk it won't fall down. I have nothing more to say for you. this is not surrender or defeat, or even a win for me. I just simply refuse to continue to partake in the futile act of arguing with you. Grow up, accept other people have different opinions. And learn that your not always right. Maybe then you will realize that you where wrong, and should have acted in a more mature manner. Although this paragraph is unlikely to affect you or your personality, i bid you good day.

This game certainly has potential. But the first few quests are annoying because EVERYONE is trying to do them at the same time and even if you're in the same group, it will only count for one person at a time.
However, the combat is pretty much exactly the same as Freelancer and I'm enjoying it.
