Every player is denoted a color when they join a competitive game, and people refer to others by their color so you don't have to remember and pronounce someone's (probably longer and harder to say) username.

Each person in a team is assigned a different coloured marker on the minimap, the guy talking was green & the guy next to him was purple.
Green was telling the team what equipment they should buy for that round, i.e. nothing so they can save up money to buy better stuff the next round. The purple guy ignores him & buy a really expensive gun, green then proceeds to flip a tit.

I love doing this in ranked games. Me and my friends always goof off and when we get paired with tryhards, it's so amusing seeing them get mad that I bought a UMP when the team is flat broke. Whenever they question it, we'll usually say something like "gotta spend money to make money" or "we need to stimulate the economy." It almost never pays off but one time I got a UMP ace so all the lost rounds were worth it.
