This looks pretty amazing, I loved Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Hayao Miyazaki is brilliant. I hate anime but I loved 'Spirited Away,' I'll probably go and see this if I get the chance. Anime isn't just about the art style, the plots in many anime shows are brilliant and wouldn't be nearly as good if they were live action.

And art styles don't define writing. Plenty of anime is horribly written. A lot of it is just hackneyed plots and meaningless meandering "teh ultimut vullin" stuff. Not to say there isn't a lot of great anime. Not really crazy for it though.[/QUOTE] Most of the dubbed stuff on Adult Swim is utter ass, with the exception of GitS, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL. EDIT: Oh, and they also showed Big O and Trigun, not sure if they still do. And they did a one-time showing of Read Or Die, which is highly recommended.

The movie in my opinion appeals to children, and the original Japanese version's theme appealed to Japanese children. Our English speaking children won't understand the original song, and its all about the upbeat rhythm and stuff these days. Heck, its all rap and stuff now in america(dunno about elsewhere). The english theme retains most of the lyrics, just in an upbeat happy fashion.

It's more the fact that they turned a cute J-pop song into an autotune-infested horrible synth mess. Had they kept the instrumental part of the original, and just had Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas sing over it, I wouldn't be pissed off. Actually, Noah Cyrus singing would STILL piss me off, holy mother of christ her voice is annoying. But it would only be mild annoyance as opposed to unstoppable rage.

I wanna see this but the original version, what DeadMollusk said pisses me off. edit: or is there no original version as in a japanese one? Spirited away was so much better in Japanese than English.
