Marlboro golds are actually pretty good in the scheme of things, at least compared to Winfield whites. They're so weak the filters have little squares cut around the edge so the smoke isn't filtered into oblivion. I'm not even sure they have nicotine in them because you could chain smoke 5 of them and still have withdrawals
I haven't smoked a cigarette in going on 6 weeks. Been smoking ~4 packs a week for 4 years.
Any of you guys quitting?
I quit for 3 weeks and then started again.
I regret it. But I have hope I'll quit for good eventually.
Quitting isn't too hard if you're busy.
I usually quit during a vacation, where I have no stress.
Yea I was on vacation two weeks ago
Helped a lot

I haven't really quit but I've cut down, and I no longer feel addicted. I've had one cigarette during the last three weeks now but I've occassionly smoked pipe too, so I can't really say I've quit, but close enough.
i'm going to spain in a little more than a week, and i'm considering quitting it while i'm able to chill at the pool. i'm just not too sure if it'll ruin my whole week because of the withdrawal symptoms.

I personally don't think you should rush quitting, it's much harder and even if you manage it then while it probably won't ruin your vacation, the withdrawal may stress you out when you should be relaxing on the beach.
I'd suggest quitting as soon as you can, preferebly now or tomorrow and go through the withdrawal now for a few days and once you're through you should be able to enjoy your trip without smoking.
That's my tip.
I don't want to quit, and everyone tells me too.
Can anyone recommend me a good cig with thick smoke?
I just quit again for the third or fourth time. Hopefully the last time, I'll bum some sometimes but I'm not going to buy another pack again.
Really wasn't hard, just weened myself down to two a day then just stopped, barely experienced any withdrawal just cravings. Last couple of times I quit were hell, weening really does help.

You can do it facepunch, the question is do you want to?
I know I didn't but you gotta make sacrifices sometimes, yaknow?
[QUOTE=Faz;41913059]Can anyone recommend me a good cig with thick smoke?[/QUOTE]
Menthols. No clue about Canadian cigs but menthols are he best for white, semi-thick smoke.

Menthols, the cooling sensation makes it easier to take more smoke imo, maybe not one thats super strong like dark green 'murrican spirits but newports are super smooth

My suggestion is E-cigs, mine did wonders for me, I just buy high nicotine content (at least 20mg) so I get more nicotine from the Ecig than a real cig. It took about 3-4 weeks to stop thinking about cigs

Black Devil cigarettes, close to being the best things I've ever tasted

Yes, they're great.
Gives that chocolate after taste too.
How bad cigs are actually are? I can't seem to find any good research paper on health effects of cig, all I find is bunch of bullshit claims with no backing and scientific basis at all. List of 4000 (lol) chemicals with no say where all those come from. Can anyone link me to one good research paper with actual science and no bullshit? There are lots of good papers on Erowid about other chemicals but I can't seem to find one on cigs. I know they are bad and all but I need real info.

You won't find unbiased source, since every research were either made by tobacco companies or anti-tobacco parties.
Why does the government not want us to smoke so bad if it makes them tons of cash? It's not as bad as, say fast food, yet the government doesn't give a shit about that. & all the research about tobacco is almost laughably stupid claims, like cigarttes have trace amounts of *gasp* RAT POISON in them!! Aka. Arsenic. Also found in rice, apple juice and chicken.

Do you really believe this?
[editline]24th August 2013[/editline]
I don't ever hear about second hand obesity from me getting some burger king (or first hand, because I exercise)
[editline]24th August 2013[/editline]
Also you can eat fast food and be healthy, as long as you drink water and exercise.
Water and exercise won't make the cancer from smoking stop growing though.

Kids are fed mcdonalds from age 2, cigarettes are 18+ so you have to make a conscious choice. Having a terrible diet like most americans is worse than inhaling smoke for your health. In general a lifetime of tobacco use cuts around 10 years off your life. My grandpa smoked a pack a day and lived till 90, I've never heard of a morbidly obese person living past 60

This is implying everyone who eats fast food is morbidly obese.
And I don't think the age limit stops kids from smoking
[editline]naggers[/editline]
The point im trying to make is this:
Fast food alone will not kill you. Terrible diet and no exercise will lead to obesity and health problems.
Smoking alone CAN kill you.
The risk for cancer is cigarettes i overblown, almost EVERYTHING causes cancer, we barely understand it. If being in the sun for more than 10 minutes or drinking soda puts me at risk for cancer, fuck it i don't care. I'm not saying cigarettes are safe, but their about as dangerous as stuff the normal person does all the time

Way more people than you think are clinically obese, & yeah but 16 is about he youngest i can see anyone smoke, and by then your body is already developed so it's not as big of an issue as kids health being damaged without even knowing

Uh, most things do cause cancer you are right.
But the percentage of people who smoke get cancer is crazy high.
[QUOTE]In a 2006 European study, the risk of developing lung cancer was:
0.2% for men who never smoked (0.4% for women)
5.5% for male former smokers (2.6% in women)
15.9% for current male smokers (9.5% for women)
24.4% for male “heavy smokers” defined as smoking more than 5 cigarettes per day (18.5% for women)[/QUOTE]

If 16 is the youngest, you need to get out more.
And you have a HIGHER chance of getting cancer when you are not an adult
I don't think theres much you can do to contract eating mcdonalds every day if thats what your trying to say. You can eat 2 big mac meals a day, then run like 50 miles to burn off the calories and all that (which almost nobody would be willing to do) but the toxins/cancer causing things are still in your body, absorbed through your colon/liver etc.

Seriously, you should start researching health effects of smoking (not just lung cancer).
Its just stupid to think eating fast food is anywhere NEAR being as unhealthy.
cigarettes are absolutely awful for your health in the long term and still pretty awful in the short. There is no conspiracy, they are actually awful.
but also awesome
