Many countries have much better training for their combat soldiers than the US military does. It's partly due to just how fucking large the US military is and partly due to fucked training cycles. You can go onto most respected and established military boards and you can see posts from US Marines and US Army soldiers admitting that after having worked with foreign countries, they can see the standard of training is a notch above for the most part. (This being said, there are as many countries with far worse training, as there are that have better training than the US). the largest problem in US military combat units is the inconsistancies of training quality between units; One such unit will have great, professional, high quality training, while another unit will look like they just got out of basic. It's entirely correctable though, and I'm sure they are taking strides to fix training cycles within the coming years. Keep in mind that just because your reaction time in CS:S is 0.0001 seconds, it doesn't mean you'll become a war hero. In fact that would just mean you'd be the biggest target in history.

For example: Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France and so forth will have better trained soldiers, but this is because their army is small and mobile. But American compensates by the sheer number of veterans and combat experience.

Deployed Army guy here. I'm an M1A2 Tank crewman currently in Sadr City, Iraq. If your wondering how I have internet its because there is a contracted Iraqi here who sells us internet for personal use. It's slow but its better than nothing. 6 years? Fuck dude you should have done a 3 year enlistment. 6 years isn't really a good idea for your first time. Do 3 years and then reenlist for 3 more near the end of your first enlistment if you end up like being in. Other shit to know. Your a Combat Engineer, you might as well be an 11b(infantry) because you go out just as much as they do.
