Canadians: Let's help fight costly and invasive mandatory internet surveillance.

That bill sounds like something a bunch of old people wrote.
Oh wait.
Zeke that name is hiiighly illegal.
What would the penalty even be for having a screen name? If I was ever taken to court over something like that i'd have to ask the entire room "are you fucking serious?"
Signed it despite not being Canadian, seemed to work.
Signed it. It's over 8,000 votes now.
If you're not Canadian you probably shouldn't sign it. Just pass it on to any Canadian you know.
God damnit.

"Mr. Parakon, please refrain from swearing in the court room"

:raise:
Got the email and signed it this morning

11,330 now :psyduck:
Signed it, our government in it's current state is fucking discusting. I'm seriously considering moving to another country once all their bullshit gets set in place. It's a beautiful country, has beautiful people, but the government is going in the opposite direction.
Can't wait until those 4 years are up and everyones clamouring to vote for a more liberal party.
The Conservative Party gave me all the reason I need to move to Norway or Sweden after I finish high school and college.
Just signed, because I highly dislike invasive internet surveillance.
The screen name thing sounds like something they can catch you on.
"Oh, we don't know exactly if you've got 500 files of child porn on your computer but you were posting under the alias of '12yopleaser'! Take his computer!"
Signed. Zeke, this is bullshit, ain't it?
I signed it. Surprised Avaaz isn't doing something similar!
I like the part where it accepts non-Canadian zipcodes.
Either way, this is almost as fucked as the Patriot Act, so I signed it.
Another non-Canadian here in support of the fight!
Signed.
I really hope this bill doesn't pass, I don't want my personal information to be handed out to anyone who asks for it. I don't want to use my real name on the internet. I don't want to be arrested for linking to a website that may or may not have illegal content on it. This is fucking ridiculous.
Signed. This is one of the most bullshittiest things I have ever seen.
All of the political parties in Canada are absolutely horrible (same as the US and most of Europe). If it isn't the liberals with their gun control and higher taxes it will be the conservatives taking away your privacy and warmongering. Jack Sprat could eat no fat. His wife could eat no lean. And so betwixt the two of them. They licked the platter clean. (signed by the way)

The NDP seems to be the only party worth voting for, and that's only because they're a wildcard. We've seen the Liberals and Conservatives fuck up our country for long enough, the NDP hasn't really had a chance to show what they've got yet. They could be Canada's saving grace or they could run the country into the ground. Since the Conservatives are already fucking up so hard, I don't see the harm in letting the NDP have a go.
The biggest issue I think is voters don't actually know what they're voting for. Before the election I asked friends and family who they were voting for. When some of them said conservative, I asked them if they knew about their platform of minimum drug sentencing, or other such things such as this thread. Everyone one of them was like "wut".
It's fucked up that they blindly support a party because "well they didn't mess us up too bad" with no consideration put into their current platform.
Surveillance is for cowards, commies and untrustworthy Americans. Signed.

I know exactly what you mean. People don't understand what the hell they're doing at the voting booths. All people care about is getting their taxes lowered by a fraction of a percent. They don't care about breech of privacy or super-jails or billion dollar fighter jets (which will only come to bite us in the ass later).
The people in this country really need some education in who and what they're voting for.
Most people I've asked about HST thought the Conservatives were against it. EVERY SINGLE CONSERVATIVE MP VOTED FOR IT YOU RETARDS DO SOME RESEARCH. The NDP was the only party against it.
And only Quebec really voted for NDP, pretty sad stuff man. Anyways, I hope this petition actually does something.
Signed it earlier when i saw the email, good job on the thread anyway Zeke.
The usage-based billing one got over half a million signatures and it worked.
Unfortunately, TELUS and Shaw Communications are going to launch UBB soon.

This article was after all the meetings Shaw had.

That isn't true. You really need to get over your blind patriotism for Quebec.
I didn't sign it, since I'm not Canadian. But don't get me wrong, I do hate liberals, they always try to take away our freedom.

Election was pretty much clear, this isn't patriotism. And I'm far from being a Patriot, I'm not like that.
After all, NDP got most of their seats in Quebec and that's just a fact. Quebec is a much more left-winged province.
