Snip wrong thread
I want to read some of my older posts, how do I view them? I'm talking about the ones from when I signed up too.
Why are you always consistently dumb?
sorry.
It would be mildly amusing to have a selection of phrases and to pick a random one for each banned user.
I'd love to see that.
BAN
Don't do what he did
There are tons of phrases to pick.

Hey thanks, it worked!

Any reason the join dates are displayed under our avatars?
Snip wrong thread
I believe the FP Toolkit adds that.

It's so we can be elitist about when we joined relative to others without having to go all the way to their profile.
how long does it normally take for a title to change? i bought a new one yesterday and it still hasn't changed
I believe the FP Toolkit adds that.
Sorry if I sound dumb, but what is the "FP Toolkit"?

Nevermind ignore this post.
Why are the mods/admins so ban happy here (at least in the gmod forum) Instead of warning or advising somebody (who is new here) that they posted in the wrong section, which was most likely a honest mistake, they just ban them!

Bans serve as warnings.
Okay, but isn't that a bit extreme? Surely it would be better to point them in the right direction, and explain what they did wrong rather than just banning them straight away. If they still break the rules, post in the wrong section or whatever THEN ban them.

I feel your pain, but you learned your lesson didn't you?
Okay 2 things.
1. In the Games In Progress forums, if a server host is going to be hosting multiple servers wouldn't it be a better idea to make them all have it in the same thread (such as the FPUK server thread) to avoid cluttering up the forum with useless threads.
2. In the News Node, can mods start moderating the RPS comments where everything just constantly goes "Oh look RockPaperShitgun hurr durr". I understand that in a few threads it's acceptable but every god damn thread.
I feel your pain, but you learned your lesson didn't you?
I was never banned, not that I know of anyway. I've just never seen so many banned members on a forum before, and was asking why so many bans are given.

Ooooh, now I feel dumb, sorry. I was just trying to say is that when I joined this site I wondered why everyone was so ban happy. I slowly realized that getting banned is healthy when you join, you stop being an idiot. Or at least it helped me learn my lesson.
Another method of not getting banned early on is to lurk. That way you can learn how not to get banned without actually getting banned.
When typing out your thread to be posted in GGeneral I would love to see the old
YOU ARE GOING TO BE BANNED
message show up, or something like it. The sticky alone isn't preventing shit- it's a flowing sewer pipe and surely monotonous as hell for the mods. Clogs of locked threads still block the frontpage, hiding contraptions and other proper threads, also taking away any hope new threads have to be seen.
Can we have that warning message back? It'll do something, and I'd love to see the Gmod General and the Contraptions subforum get back up to scratch for the coming update.
