Any thread with soccer as a topic sucks. Someone says soccer and then the brits get butthurt and say "no its football u play handegg lol lol im so original"
As far as I'm concerned it's soccer. I will never call it football, except to explain what soccer is to a foreigner or someone who doesn't know the word. Don't tell me it's football, because it's not to me.
The reason we still argue about that is because facepunch does not know anything else to argue about when it comes to football.
I hate sports games. They have no point. I play a shooter to kill people without [I]actually[/I] killing people. Why play fucking soccer games when you can go outside and fucking play soccer?
It's the same for any sport.

Why not do both? FIFA 10 helps me work on my shooting and skills. You know, keep a good balance between social life/outside/vidya games.

It's always been this way, even when I first joined in 2006. I remember when the News forum was made and everyone would just spam "only in america" and then when something bad happened in England it was a huge flame war. Eventually this escalated into Football/Soccer threads, you still can't have a successful American Football thread in General Discussion without someone having to troll it. I guarantee when American Football starts again in a couple of months that this will happen.
