You don't know me, and therefore you cannot possibly tell me that I am not dedicated to serving my country, or by extension, flying as a pilot in the airforce.
Whether or not I become a pilot in the airforce, I will serve my country one way or another. If I become a doctor like my father, I will go through residency training in the army or some branch of the military. I am 100% sure that one day I will serve my country one way or another, with as much dedication and hard work as any man can produce.
You HAVE to be dedicated to even be considered for such a job. In the AF there's only about 500 slots a year, and 75% of those go to the best of the Air Force Academy.
Minimum requirements is a high school diploma, three years pre-college, 4 years college, and damn fine grades on all of those. That's just minimum, Military pilots are known for striving to be better than anyone else.
Hey good luck. Once you pass boot camp it'll be a piece of cake.
Found out yesterday that one of my buddies from basic training lost both legs to an IED. You be careful, and listen to everything your drill sergeants tell you. They teach you a lot more than how to fight and how to survive. Remember that they're not out to get you. It'll seem like they live for no other purpose than to make your life hell, to make you regret your decision to enlist, and to break you down into nothing- but stay strong, and when you come out the other side you'll see how much of a favor they actually did for you.
BCT changes you. It's more than making you stronger and faster, more than teaching you how to fire a weapon. When you walk down the line at your graduation from BCT, you will be a different man than you were when you first got off the bus. A better man; mentally and physically capable of conquering any obstacle.
Good luck, soldier!

He was deployed that quickly? What MOS was he?

We graduated BCT in November of 2009. He was an 88M, a truck driver. His AIT was very short, so he must have been deployed pretty quickly after reaching his unit.
I wish you best of luck!
may the force be with you
good luck
BRING ME BACK AN AK 47 :D

It happened to me. With in 2 weeks of my arriving at Fort Lewis, I was already starting out processing to deploy to Iraq.
Good luck out there, you're gonna need it.
Don't get shot!
Engrave the FP logo on each individual bullet, then load them into the clip, which also has the logo. Then, when you load the gun, you can have an official facepunch killing MACHEEN.
:jihad:
Hahaha, I definitely wouldn't be suited for the military. Gotta have mah games.
I saw an episode of dirty jobs for combat engineer and it involved a lot of running back and forth across long stretches carrying heavy objects. :\

Do you get to run after tanks and fix them while they are under fire?
That's not in basic training lol. This is what you see in movies and stuff

Don't forget to use your Repair Tool to fix friendly vehicles, you get like 20 points for every 180 HP repaired, and 30 for squad vehicles.
Good luck.
