Facepunch is doomed to burn in an eternity of lake fire, Jesus is saddened by your lack of Faith. Praise be to he who died for our sins upon that cross. Jesus the original Powerful Wizard.
Pascals Wager. If there is a god, how do you know it's the christian god? How do you know this god won't punish people who believe without evidence? [editline]08:25PM[/editline] The idea of blind faith is awful. Christianity is filled with all kinds of sick shit (hell).
Again, no one is forcing you to follow religion. I have plenty of athiest friends whom I respect and who respect me. We agree to disagree. Religious debate is nothing but a huge circle. There's no point to it. Nothing but a waste of breath.

I've never seen Religion as the problem... it's always been the people following the religion who fuck it up. Religious scriptures can be interpreted any way you want, hence why most large religions are divided into sects. There are narrow-minded atheists, too: those who unquestionably deny spiritual belief. Oh yeah, and I reckon everyone ITT should read "God Is Not Great"; it really rips into organized religion. Hitchens does it better than Dawkins does. But keeps the point that it's the people who follow the religion who fuck it up in the end. Most religions start off being all tolerant and benevolent and generally following a nice basis for morality, and end up being a convoluted, contradictory, pile of wank.
Blah blah blah. Athiests can be just as bad as Christians. Accept each others' differences and move on with your damn life. You can't change their mind just as they can't change yours. Leave each other alone already. Christianity is not a cult, but most of the people who follow it either take it too far or have no clue what they're doing. Don't blame the entirety of the Christian religion for something a few nutjobs are doing.
a few nut jobs? a few? there's god damn thousands, just go watch jesus camp and you'll understand
To be honest anyone who tells you that you are going to hell, isn't a very good christian. In my opinion, if you were raised as a catholic then you probably have a pretty good sense of what is right and wrong, therefore won't be doing anything like murder or rape, and therefore won't be going to hell.
Good sir, I wasn't raised as anything (didn't know what my family believed until I was 11. They're atheists), are you implying that because of this I've got a higher chance of murdering and raping people?
itt atheists rub dicks
Oh hello post from 2007.
It becomes my problem when the most powerful country in the world is largely controlled by religious people with a fucked up view on the world.
So argue with the people in power. Not with some random person on the internet.
FINALLY! Someone who sees it my way! Ive always thought of all religions as a way and control and power. I also agree, my only religion is logic. The only to be poisoned by any religion is to start young. I never had a chance to do that and now with all that I know, its a method of control.
No one is forcing you to debate. Just pretend were not here, I'll bet you're really good at it.
A religious post on the internet? Oh goodness, this is going to turn into a flame war. BTW I am Christian, and I have my own opinion upon my own religious view, and I also respect yours. Posting your opinion on the INTERNET however where people ARE BOUND TO HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS is something only an ass-tard would do.
"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" — Epicurus, philosopher (c. 341-270 BCE) Religion of any kind is a dog leash, in my opinion.
I've always found Molotov cocktails to be more effective. Or if I'm feeling ironic, rigging a church to be struck and burnt down by lightning is always fun. Ah Religion, with your endless babble of gods so caring for you yet so apathetic they allow you die from disease and human viciousness, your countless arguments of 'reason' and 'logic' that dictate all questions can and are answered by the god to which you give praise, and your embrace on converting non-believers only leads me to believe the most negative aspects of your arguments.
what is so wrong with death? [editline]03:25PM[/editline] i mean if you were an athiests then yes, death would suck because there would be nothing. but if you were religious, going to heaven would be incredible
I wish facepunch wasn't full of retards anymore. I remember the good ol' days.
It becomes my problem when the most powerful country in the world is largely controlled by religious people with a fucked up view on the world.
Are you implying that Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. have political power in the US? 'Cuz that's part of what a lot of people had against Jews. They beleived that they were secretly running and manipulating the worlds governments. Case in point... Back in the late 19th early 20th (I forget, the exact year, or decade for that matter), Japan got into a fight with russia over territory. Russia, being the huge giant it was (and still is really), had plenty of people and natural resources, while Japan, being a small coastal island chain, had a relatively small population, and few resources to speak of. It's advantage lay in being a highly modern nation, having a small but deadly military. Russia, on the other hand, was poorly developed, and had lousy training programs. While it may have looked bad initially for the island chain, that was only in apearance. A New York banker (and by coincidence, Jewish) who's name I forget, saw profit in backing the small nation. He made an investment of millions of dollars (huge money at the time) in the Japanese military, giving them an even better equiped and trained army/navy than before, along with a more selective officer recruitment/training program. In case you still think Russia was and is too big to be beaten in pitched battle, Japan thrashed them. The aforementioned banker's investment sparked controversy. Many said that he made that loan to punish Russia for it's treatment of their Jewish population. This fueled a conspiracy theory that Jews were all in on a plot together to secretly control the world. Some people still beleive that theory. Sad but true. Post your comments.
athiests please respond to my above posts LETS HAVE SOME FUN
nothing really, just the laws of physics finally making us pay for what we have done.
