And please don't call me homophobic, it is entirely disingenuous.
The only thing disingenuous is the mental gymnastics involved in trying to explain how this comic is "forced pandering" and that's the only reason you don't like it.
It isn't though. My thought was that I didn't think it was necessary to note and wouldn't affect the game or story.
It's a comic that ultimately doesn't affect the game. The only reason to care about the issue is in fact homophobia, which isn't really nothing new when applied to you.
It's just a silly multiplayer shooter with gorillas and fantasy dwarves, why do people even care about this. It's not even in the fucking game.
this is hilarious
I noticed that some of the complaints state no reason for denouncing a fictional character's sexuality.
"It makes me uncomfortable" and "because a book said so" are not valid excuses.

But I can't pretend that Tracer is my girlfriend at night now!!!
I can understand that. I was taken aback at first I was under the impression that there wasn't really any character development at all to it. And the annoucement of Tracer being gay was just something done to make it look like Blizzard is a welcoming, progressive company because they can make every character a minority rather than trying to create a story.
There was no announcement, it was just a scene in the new comic.
I don't see why it is necessary to assign a sexuality when it has no purpose to the game at all. It would make sense if it were a narrative driven game where that type of information pertinent, but it seems like Blizzard just wants to feed into fan fiction cancer. I don't think any person in their sane mind have intention roleplaying sexual fantasies in a first-person shooter.
I don't play games for identity politics. It isn't necessary to have a disabled, pansexual, hermaphrodite, black-white mix tranny for it to be a game that panders to all audiences. Just make a fucking fun game for god's sake.
They unavoidably had to "assign" her as either gay or straight so they know what her partner should look like in the comic.
It doesn't even matter if the decision was politically motivated, because it didn't affect the quality of the comic.

especially when its something as fucking minor as her kissing another girl. I mean shit, if it was revealed that tracer was actually a demi-kin 3 gender or some shit like that, and it was rubbed in peoples faces, just for the sake of it, yea, then I would roll my eyes at that. But seriously, she's just doing what a reasonably big part of society has been doing for who knows how many years. People need to grow the fuck up.
I don't get what's the big deal with making tracer gay it's not like the porn of her is going to change.
jokes are funny tudd
this is the worst 'zinger' ever. not everyone has the same bloody sense of humour

But there will be more of it.
People complaining about Tracer being gay and people complaining about the people complaining are the losers; I have won.
these people are so insecure
oh fuck i reposted
Why the fuck are people getting so upset over a video game character? I will never understand
After seeing her Origins skin the whole gay thing isn't exactly a surprise
Lmao, so what she's gay, its no big deal. Some responses on here though, phew.
It's a pretty beautiful thing how it's brought out the closeted homophobes who become quite obvious when you look at their priorities and the assumptions they keep making.

This happens with pretty much every video-game wherein a well-liked character is suddenly revealed to be gay.
if you're upset that you can't fuck tracer anymore because she's gay, maybe you should've first realized that you could never fuck her anyways because she isn't fucking real

when one door closes another opens
just pretend you're a girl
It's surprising to me that in a time where trans people are getting more exposure and acceptance than they used to that people are still fainting at the idea of a fictional character being gay.

But-but-but that means fantasizing about sticking my dick in them isn't canon!

Why does winston suffer so much?

Wtf not one person in the thread has answered this fundamental question.
The comic was not even that good with a rushed and sudden delivery. The only redeeming quality is that it has background information on the Overwatch universe. Suddenly revealing a relationship without any sort of proper development is silly to say the least. Who is Tracer's girlfriend? What does she do? More importantly, why should I care about this new character?
Why does Widowmaker visit the grave of her dead husband when it's established she's a shell of her former self and a merciless killer? The only indication of her former self is some respawn quotes. Talon just lets her leave to do something that could be potentially long term, or else she sneaked out on her own or she is free to do as she please.
Not to mention that the plot is otherwise bland and generic. People focus on the gay when it's a symptom of a larger problem with Blizzard's storytelling in Overwatch.
I didn't even know there was a comic until someone mentioned it. Hop off my dick yo
Oh man I didn't think I'd see this kind of shit in 2016, shits going fucking backwards fast this year.

It's not limited just to video games. It's any fictional media. When JK Rowling revealed Dumbledore was gay she literally had people arguing with her that she couldn't decide that. Not that it wasn't an obvious reveal anyways to anyone who actually paid any attention. It was subtle but there were plenty of hints in the story that he was gay.

I don't know the back story at all because I don't play the game and my only exposure to it (other than this comic) is stuff that people on other sites I frequent post but that really seems like a self-explanatory question. Even if someone is a shell of their former self that doesn't mean they have no desires or regrets.

To be honest I have a gay friend who disliked the JK Rowling Dumbledore thing, mostly because there was nothing in the books to even suggest he was gay, she just came out with it to seem progressive even though it was clearly an afterthought, which is kind of offensive in its own way.

Like I said, there was plenty but it was subtle. The most notable stuff that people most noticed was his history with Grindelwald. It was obvious enough that before she revealed it I was wondering if he was actually gay and I'm definitely not the only one who thought it was likely.
