This may be super weird question, but how does solo mining work? [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] In terms of setup.
Go into %APPDATA%/BBQCoin Make a file named bbqcoin.conf with the following inside:
server=1 daemon=1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=pass rpcport=59332
and save it. Restart your bbqcoin wallet. Open your miner, and point it at 127.0.0.1:59332 with the username as user and the password as pass.

Miner just hangs at "Connecting".
What happened to http://bbqcoin.megapool.co/? Can't connect to it, so can't many others according to the chat.
Solo seems to work for me but how can I check that everything is properly configured? Welp doesnt work now for some reason. I get the same error as above. My miner now says " starting"
What is this BBQCoin you guys keep talking about?
What is this BBQCoin you guys keep talking about?
It's like bitcoin. Only spicier.
What is this BBQCoin you guys keep talking about?
who cares we're already onto BURGERCoin now BBQCoin was so last week
Does this mean solomining is working or what
Yes it does. There are P2Pool nodes now, try http://bbq.crabdance.com:8900/static/ -o bbq.crabdance.com:8900 -u YOURBBQCOINADDRESS -p anything
Is solo mining with a 65khash/sec GPU gonna be better than a pool? [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] That crabdance p2pool thingy is just giving me this

It'll be even worse with Solo, only solo if you have maybe 500kh/s or more. Keep mining, that is fine.
Fucking HD5750, why did you have to die on me, i could be pulling like 210khash/sec right now.
I've been using http://fc.dontmine.me/ when I mine FTC. Right now though, I'm on http://ub3rl33t.com/ mining BQC.
Didn't BQC get killed in a 51% ages ago?
Didn't BQC get killed in a 51% ages ago?
Yep. It's back now.
The hell is with all these *coins floating around? Seems like there's a new flavour every week.
Now what does this mean
It's working, it's just that 33 kh/s is really, REALLY slow
It's up to 200 now. [editline]7th May 2013[/editline]
Yes it does. Do I need to add anything else or is it just put it in the .bat for cgminer.
It's up to 200 now. [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] I'm using this pool. Do I need to add anything else or is it just put it in the .bat for cgminer.
Well, any miner settings you have like what I gave you a page or two earlier. That's all you need in terms of pools though. If you want a backup, here is another node: http://altcoin.pw:4096/
I still get the same problem. Miner just hangs at "Connecting".
I had to start the wallet with "-server" parameter or else it wouldn't even read bbqcoin.conf
My BBQ Wallet can't seem to connect to any nodes or whatever so it syncs, The official forums don't tell me anything and I've the newest client. Also tried deleting everything in %appdata%/bbqcoin
It will connect eventually, i had the same problem.
So are these new altcoins just going to keep coming and going up in price? Probably going to save what I make when BBQ goes up in price to invest into something else.
Okay I feel sort of dumb asking this, but I'm so confused with bitcoins, and I don't feel like searching much more. I got a wallet on this site https://blockchain.info/wallet/ However, when I try to make a cash deposit order it says the server is unavailable. Is there an easier way to get bitcoins than using bitinstant? I don't mind the fees and want the conveience of a cash deposit, it's just kind of annoying

Lots of people buy moneypak on bitcointalk.
Do you guys think bbqcoin will go up in price
Try directly from bitinstant.com If that doesn't work then your best bet is to buy a Moneypak and then trade someone P2P for bitcoin.
It will connect eventually, i had the same problem.
After like 5 hours it finally began :v:
I'm pretty sure its because nobody has added any bootstrap nodes to the bbqcoin source yet, so your wallet spends hours trying different addresses until it finds another node. :v: [editline]8th May 2013[/editline] Try starting up bbqcoin-qt with -addnode=altcoin.pw That should try connecting to the node running @ altcoin.pw
I'm pretty sure its because nobody has added any bootstrap nodes to the bbqcoin source yet, so your wallet spends hours trying different addresses until it finds another node. :v:
Hmm, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by bootstrap nodes, but my client connects to IRC right away, starts getting nodes, and starts syncing right away.
