So i've been reading a bit about bitcoins. Seems pretty interesting and easy. I just downloaded the bitminer, made an account and its going at .0015 coins/day. Anything i can do to increase that?
What graphics card do you have?

Nvidia 9800GTX. I actually switched to the 50Miner pool. This seems so much faster. Quick question, will this kill my computer/electricity bill? Cause the lag was horrendous, i can deal with that i just dont want everything to start melting.

So should i just set the settings on medium instead of max? Where will it be ok so my computer doesnt melt
whatever you put it on you're going to wear it out quicker. if you're bothered about that don't do it.
ASICMINER announced this USB-powered Bitcoin mining chip. It does about 300 MHash/s, apparently.

I kind of want it.

I'd buy it for the right price. I'd love a tiny plug and play miner.
which site did you use and how was it?
Kapiton.se
jag förstår inte svenska
Kapiton.se
Definitely seems to be the best swedish market even though it's like 100kr more expensive then gox.
Bitexchange is such a ripoff. They're consistently $50 more expensive than Mt. Gox.
I've made about 14 bux since I started selling and buying :v:
Can someone loan me 0.01btc? I'll send back 100% interest on it within 3 hours of being notified about it. I just need that small amount, no questions asked.

What is a good exhange to buy from.
Gox is okay i guess, but they require so much verification, ID's, proof of residency... residency is hard for me because im dependent, living with parents, so i have no bills in my name.

Do tell if you find a way to get past this. I have the same problem, only phone bills are in my name, the rest aren't.

Found a guy to photoshop it all for me, so ill be good once a bill comes in.
Too bad there is literally no other option worth using
Closest thing is BTC-e which only has a fraction of the trading volume, crappy security (people apparently are losing their accounts left and right), and is also apparently ran by russian mafia lol. I'd only trade there because its the only place trading litecoin but I don't keep my ltc in the accounts there at all. It's literally a shittier version of mtgox that is only stable and up most of the time because its trading volume is hardly anything compaired to mtgox's
There are plenty of good alternatives. The best I've found (and where I trade) is bitstamp. Their infrastructure also seemed to fare best during the DDoS attacks. And of course they got the cleanest and sexiest website design.
Sure trading volumes are not as enormous as on Mt.Gox, but that's part of the problem; Gox has way too much. And besides if people start seeing these alternatives as viable the volume on them will eventually increase.
Also will be interesting to see what happens on Monday when fiat starts pouring in at the exchanges. I expect a huge rise followed by fluctuations/corrections, but what exactly will happen is anyone's guess (that's the charm of bitcoin, isn't it?).

How does selling work at bitstamp?? Whats the process, and what venues do they pay out on?

I'm using a Swedish exchange. So transferring funds to it with a Swedish bank account is really simple.
Whats the cheapest but best GPU for mining? I have a GTX 570 but sadly it only gives me 136 Mh/s this is without CUDA but I cant even find a CUDA miner on Ubuntu that will do CUDA.
If can get my 570 up to 260+ MH/s I will be quite happy to use it for mining but if not then its probably not worth it. I was thinking something along the lines of a 6950?
Thoughts?
Woohoo! Made my first 0.01 btc today :v:
...and 0.1 nmc, I need to get another pc going with this.
Who do you think are controlling the bitcoin markets? billionaires? Oil Tycoons? that’s laughable
I’ve seen a common trend showing up within certain female (keyword) social groups (i’ve been undercover picking intel off of them)
they’ve finally figured out how to use bitcoin (typical, takes them forever to catch onto revolutionary technology) and now they’re pissed men have a giant hold over the market, so like typical antiequality feminist BRATS they’re manipulating the market so they can have a stranglehold over a man’s market, the only way they know how, by deceit, manipulation and ddosing
Do you mean the tumblr feminists or actual female groups?

what
Whats a good site to sell on?
Fastcash4bitcoins, i sold to them last night, bitcoins got confirmed, and payment is still "pending"
How long should i expect that to go on???
Im trying to find a good sale website that pays fast, so i can actively play the markets in a manageable manner, not wait 24 hours for a pending payment that could further be used to invest in the market.

I'm pretty sure they still put orders through 4 times a day. You sold to them after the last bulk, so you have to wait until later today when they start again. Probably around 12.

The only way you can expect payments like that is with a direct P2P trade.
Check the Currency Exchange section on bitcointalk, or check out #bitcoin-otc.

Of course, you can always use BTC-e and then withdraw your USD to Moneybookers.
Or you can make a BTC-e code with your usd and someone here would probably trade paypal for it.
