I just got my mt.gox account verified. I was planning on putting some money in there and doing some speculating. But the fees alone will cost me over $100. It isn't worth it for something I will probably just lose anyway.
$100 fees? Using dwolla with mtgox makes it practically free. Only downside is it takes some time for the money to transfer enough hands to get into gox (prob around 24-48 hours total).

[editline]24th April 2013[/editline] I like to use http://www.preev.com/ it's a really simple converter.
I'm really trying to get into this Bitcoin mining stuff but it's pretty complicated.. I'd be happy if I could just make ONE BTC tbh.

How do you use dwolla with mt.gox? Do you just select international transfer and do it that way? The international transfer is highly ambiguous about how much will be charged. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] *do it that way and treat your dwolla account like a bank? [editline]April[/editline] Eh, I went ahead with it anyway. I'm just hoping I calculated it wrong and if not I plan on losing all of it anyway. Otherwise it'd be stupid to be putting the money in anyhow.
litecoins at 3.5 :v:

Mtgox can also withdraw funds to dwolla and you can send it to a bank. Their fee for doing this is 25c per transaction. If you live international it might be higher but not nearly as much as doing a wire transfer would be... It's pretty much the only reason to bother getting verfied on mtgox anyways since AFAIK you can only use dwolla if verfied otherwise you are stuck with other less desirable options, like what you are doing. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline]
litecoins at 3.5 :v:
In a PDF they posted on mtgox facebook they pretty much confirmed that they'll be supporting LTC, but were delayed with the problems otherwise it would have been in two weeks ago News like that obviously is driving the price up.

[editline]25th April 2013[/editline] An expensive excersise I'll probably regret. But I wouldn't be able to get over it if I don't do it. I have some gambling problems. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] (Gambling problems in a good way.)
litecoins at 3.5 :v:
FFS of course i sell RIGHT before the boom [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] go down you piece of shit i want my investment back
Well might as well buy now when it dips because now that its pretty much confirmed by gox themselves that they'll be putting in LTC support soon it'll jump once that happens. I was thinking about selling at around 3 to recoup my investment and maybe buy lower but it doesn't look like it's ever going to drop below 3 again for a long while so I'm just gonna hold on to it. I'd try doing some day trading to make a pretty penny on the rising cost but TBH it might not be worth it with with the 24-48 hour delays that'll be involved with doing something like that to get USD from my bank account.

I only have 1.05 LTC because its too hard to buy litecoisn. Sigh.
I decided to pay this thread a visit because of my recent experience. I've found out that my PC seems to be infested and that it's used for bitcoin mining at some 50btc mining pool. I've figured out what it is but don't know yet how to remove it, it keeps coming back every single time.

You my dear sir, are a slave.
Woohoo! Logged into my old deepbit account and found 0.14 bitcoins just sitting there. Used it to buy 4.5 Litecoins.
Where can you sell LTC? Is it more profitable to mine LTC rather than BTC right now?
Where can you sell LTC? Is it more profitable to mine LTC rather than BTC right now?
http://dustcoin.com/mining You currently make 33% more mining litecoin. (Litecoin is about 1000x harder to hash, so for every 1MH/s your hardware generates, just say you'd mine 1KH/s with litecoin. So 1000MH/s on BTC = 1000KH/s on LTC) You can trade litecoins at btc-e or vircurex.
Thinking about dumping $700 into LTC before it gets to high. I know its a risk but even if it goes up a dollar simply by being on mtgox (which is now for sure confirmed to be coming, and the only reason why LTC's been rising against BTC falling), I've made around $200 on top of the $70 or so I've already made from my $200 ltc investment @ $3 And if it does the "unthinkable" and booms kinda like BTC did up to maybe around $10 or so? I've made almost $1k :v: EDIT: ack, well... forgot dwolla takes upto 4 buisness days to get money into it lol... by that point it'll probably be on gox already making the whole thing not worth it. Ah well, if so I'll just deposit the money I just withdrew directly to my bank account again so I don't really lose anything :v:
Anyone who mines and wants an unlikely chance to make money, I get the itching feeling BBQCoin will get an exchange soon, and the difficulty is really low right now so..
Oh dear. Transferwise are now restricting bank transfers to Bitcoin exchanges. Sad sad day. [img_thumb]http://www.7ece.co.uk/imgsrc/7.png[/img_thumb] http://transferwise.com/blog/2013-04/notice-to-bitcoin-users-april-2013 http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1cy8fc/proposition_uk_banks_blocking_transfers_to/ This is infurating.
Bad news for Canadians. Revenue Canada says that they are going to Tax Capital gains on bitcoins.
Bad news for Canadians. Revenue Canada says that they are going to Tax Capital gains on bitcoins.
It is piss easy to go under the radar with bitcoin, I wouldn't really worry.
I mined 1600FC in the first few hours that the altcoin was released. I went to look at an exchange today and I realized I have $150 now. Holy shit!
Shit is it still that profitable?
According to my calculations at the current exchange rate 1000Kh/s makes $21 a day. That means it is x2 profitable to mine then litecoin right now.
It is piss easy to go under the radar with bitcoin, I wouldn't really worry.
If you are buying and selling them for goods online then it's fine, but if you have direct deposits going to your bank account Revenue Canada will find you.
