in soviet russia, fast food
really
isn't that fast at all
I hate McDonalds.
Burger King is much better. (The best is In-N-Out but unfortunately only in the U.S.)
BURN IT WITH FUCKING FIRE.
Jesus... I hate In-N-Out Burger. It's overly popular, and tastes like a greasey baked shit ball. Disgusts me that even anyone likes it.
As for me... I like Jack in The Box.
I went to a McDonalds in Moscow a few years ago (It was Run by a Canadian, and I think most of the menus were in English 0-o)

We don't have Jack in the Box here, so I've never had it. BK and McDs were our only major burger chains.
Anyhow, one store symbolizing the death of an empire. And all those people waited hours so they could simply have a taste of American food/capitalism. Such is life in Moscow.
Am I the only person on the internet who thinks McDonalds food is pretty good?
Plus it probably was a symbol of America, freedom and all that back then. I mean the USSR dissolved a year later.
America isn't a symbol of freedom. It's rather a symbol of sociopathic war obessed imperialism and greed.
America isn't a symbol of freedom. It's rather a symbol of sociopathic war obessed imperialism and greed.
To the Soviets at the time it was a symbol of both- they knew America was succeeding with many freedoms for the people, and they saw their own state dying and getting worse, and of course it was always a police state- so it was a symbol of freedom and liberation compared to their own state.
Imperialistic and greed, yes, but that seemed alot better than poverty, lack of freedom, and inner-party/outer-party classism and racism.
Its like they never had a fast food place in russia before.
Must be the new ride at Wonderland.
Imagine the greasy friedness of those mass prepared burgers. mmmmmmmmmm

It's not just in the US for the record
Even though I can't stand to eat fast foods often, when I do, I have to say that KFC tastes the best.
Wait till their dissapointed at the greasy shit
You guys have no ideas about lines in the USSR. My parents and grandparents have many stories about them. Standing in lines for a sausage, since only the first 50 or so would get them.
Oh i do, my grandparents lived in rural poland and had to wait 5 hours once to sell their excess grain.
Soviet people loved western stuff, that's not news
I think it's an interesting view on the Russian mentality around the end of the Cold War.
Yes
Yo dawgs y u hatin' on burgahs.
Seriously, fast food may not be healthy for you but obviously it is tasty enough to spawn worldwide multi-billion dollar corperations. I don't know if it's part of your diet to claim that their food tastes like shit so you don't feel bad about not eating it but, whatever man. Opinions.
Its like they never had a fast food place in russia before.
That's because they never had one before.
I can't wait to eat the food those capitalist pigs eat!
There is no Burger King in Russia...
