Tell your boss it's unreasonable and you want your hours reduced back to 20. If he disagrees, then quit.
Tell her you'll leave if she doesn't lower your hours to the original amount of hours that it is in your contract. She cannot force you to work all those 30 hours anyway, because you probably signed for those 20. If she's persistent you obviously are way better off at the store next door.
this [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
If it truly is impacting your school work, then yes, by all means quit. But i have managed 40 hours a week, putting in 16 hours a week of school, and gotten by just fine. But everyone is different. You just need to decide how much it's getting in the way of school, because no temporary job should get in the way of that. But if you can manage to do both, you can make some money. And the new guy always catches shit. You get the shit jobs until you aren't the new guy anymore. Then it's that guy's turn. But just remember how much it sucked being that guy, and try to go easy on him when no one else does.
this too
At least you have a job in this economy, quit your bitching.
I'd quit if I were you.
:ms:
Yes, quit. Find something easier to work.
It seems like your manager wants you to quit or he doesn't like you. You should quit either way.
talk to your manager again see if he can stop being such a dick. if he doesn't, then quit.
Your boss is an asshole. Quit before he demotes you to Janitor. In addition, if you don't study, you will eventually wind up being a janitor anyways. So get a move on those resignation papers, OR, if you really want to send a message... Take a shit on his desk when he isn't there and then leave a note saying "Give me some shitty jobs now, asshole! I QUIT!" [editline]10th December 2010[/editline] HERRO, PREASE. Wait, that was the Chinese on South Park... Fuck. Either way just quit.
What's wrong with being a Janitor :colbert:
At first I was like "Yeah another suicide thread?", but then I read the OP and well, this is pretty rediculous. You should look out for another job and then quit.
threaten that you'll leave if you don't get better hours/wage. better than straight leaving outright.
Find another job before you quit your current one at least.
You should sue him. Then you won't have to worry about getting a new job.
Truth is I do have another job but I don't get much hours (under 10) because I told that manager I got the job at this electronic store and will mostly be working there.. So honestly I really just wanna quit..like today even though I still have 18 hours of work to finish before this week ends Should I just not show up for work today? I've been working 8 hours every single day since Wednesday and yeah. It's ridiculous
If it is seasonal work for December just stay till the end of December it is only another 3 weeks.
If it is seasonal work for December just stay till the end of December it is only another 3 weeks.
That was my plan before I realized how shit this job is and more importantly how shit the manager treats me like I said every single time after I finish work I feel like shit because of it
Quit. And please, when you do, tell facepunch what your bitchy manager says/does, I really wanna know.
If he treats you like shit then he probably won't be a good reference for another job. I say just don't show up and when they call just tell them you quit.
That was my plan before I realized how shit this job is and more importantly how shit the manager treats me like I said every single time after I finish work I feel like shit because of it
I will be honest, a lot of jobs will be like that. I work in a kitchen at one of the busier restaurants in town, and some nights i have wanted to just flip a table over and walk out. But then again, we get free beers at the end of the night, so that helps... New solution: Take a 24 pack to work. Get loaded on the job, this problem is bound to take care of itself then.
Depends on how much you need the money. If you desperately need the money, continue on through December while looking for another job and then quit. If you don't want to send your body through stress hell and you're not in dire need of money then quit now.
Title gave me the idea that this was another shitty "I'm going to kill myself" thread.
Don't quit. Just dont go on the days you have plans. School always come first yo. Fuck that asshole. I work 2 jobs and have an 18 hour class schedule so i know exactly how you feel. [editline]10th December 2010[/editline] There isn't enough time in the world.
Punch her in the cooter.
yes, your manager is obviously an asshole.
He's trying to run a business. There are many things to consider, a couple of them being: 1. Is the OP a good worker? 2. Can the employer legally fire him, assuming he's a bad worker? If not, is this the employer's way of getting him to quit? Calling the manager an asshole when you don't know the full story really just makes you look like an asshole.

Threaten to quit if he doesn't change the hours if he doesn't, quit.
30 hours a week is chump change my friend. But seriously, if you truly feel like this isn't the job for you, then by all means quit. Just make sure attempt to leave on a good note. It's always good to have atleast one manager from each past job for a recommendation.

I've only been there 4 times..so technically he could fire me anytime. and again the question goes to why hire me in the first place if youre gonna make me quit after working there 3 times..
You've been working for 3 days and you're doing that many hours? I'd just stop going.
