So how has facepunch really helped you? I would say that it helped me in my grammar, and meeting many people. Also, I have to say, aside from some of the Rust idiots, this is one of the better forums I've been to. Partially because the Moderators do their jobs, and the idiots get banned most of the time. Unlike other forums where those idiots roam freely.
When smartness was here, it helped me not be a fucking retard all the time. Since it left, it helped me save money on dates as I don't have any of them anymore.
Helped me not make dumb posts. I shit you not, not even a month before I joined i was making posts like "lol xD"
I went from a sheltered and semi-innocent teen to a racist and pretentious asshole. Thank you Facepunch. I've never felt better while keying random cars in the mall parking lot.
It helped me get motivated to lose weight because of the Fix Up! Look Sharp! thread and generally got me more interested in clothes. [t]http://i.imgur.com/P7Rxa5f.jpg[/t]
Helped me stop with shit like xD, LOL, LMAO etc Also grammar and spelling.
It helped me learn English.
i now hate everything also I made a few friends so I guess that counts
Nothing really serious I don't think. It's a good way to burn some time and I guess I feel like a part of a "community" of sorts
Helped me(and still does) fill the countless free hours I otherwise have
Made me hate feminists and progressives Mainly though it was my first glimpse into the "real" internet; before I started browsing around here the most actual experience I had with internet communities was on a site designed for 8 year olds and had so many "political correctness" rules (link: scratch.mit.edu )
I now actually read the news because of the 'Sensationalist Headlines' forum.
No offense to anyone, I mean this in a good way: Facepunch taught me that there are multiple kinds of frothing, glowing eyed psychopaths on the internet. I also picked up a few tidbits about some games that ended up interesting me here and there as well.
Well, my first post got me banned and lost me 26 smartness, so needless to say it's helped my internet conduct
After five years, I think FP has made me ever so slightly more liberal minded. And to a point, made me be less of an ass online.
I met B!N4RY and my life changed forever, no uguu can ever keep us apart.
dumb but neigh infinite distraction
Facepunch helped me to access high quality porn that just didn't exist on free to browse sites back in the day.
Improved my English and motivated me to study it.

Due to the members and how most people post it sorta helped with my grammar and punctuation and the like. Also boredom
now i know all the latest sensationalist feminism and lgbt news
FP has helped me with my depression somewhat.
Taught me to be more careful when writing English. Way back when the smartness system was still in effect. That also included English grammar. Massively improved my English class marks as well.
helped cement my left-wing political views, reading posts in sensationalist headlines was also probably part of what turned me into the feminist lunatic i am today. also people have given me advice regarding my social and love life and been friends for me at a time when i had none, so that's cool too.
I don't know how much of it is just growing up, but I'm sure Facepunch had its hand in it: Since Facepunch, I've noticed an improvement in my language and an increase in stability when it comes to my views on the world and personal interests. I'm sure Facepunch has helped me realize them to some degree. With all of that came quite a bit of cynicism, but I suppose that's just part of my personality and it's not like it's at an unhealthy level or anything like that.
Before I joined I used to be one of those really annoying bronies. Thanks to facepunch, I am no longer and thus my social life was saved.
Helped me with my grammar and spelling. It also made me realize I hate everything.
Facepunch ruined my life.
