It's funny because James Blake has made it clear how much he hates brostep.

I can't even begin to imagine how that would sound.

This has been nagging me for sometime.. the burial thread is gone so I'd thought I post it here, but does Burial sound like shit when being played through speakers? I really don't like using the word "shit" to describe it considering how much I love his music, but on my speakers, it really does sound like shit. I almost feel like he made his music while wearing headphones, because it doesn't feel right at all with speakers, whereas with my headphones it's fucking perfect. My speakers only go down to around 39 hz so that may play part of it, (sub needed) but I don't feel like that could be the culprit entirely.
I often listen to Burial in the car, through my tv speakers, through my speaker and amp from a turntable as well as headphones and I've never thought it sounded shit. Burial uses a lot of crackle and noise samples so those might come out over the speakers more?
yea could be it, I was listening to them through hi-fi speakers. But even with the treble toned way down, still sounds like shit. This is pretty damn disappointing to me.
Haven't really posted anything in a while, I had this song stuck in my head earlier today swindle's a badman

A wee bit of chillstep, what do you think of this? I didn't do it, it's my friends, he wants some critics!
I found this.
Just listened to the entirety of this: One hell of an album, I must say. The time-stretched vocal samples and sub-bass melodies were very mesmerizing; it makes me want to paint a picture or go to sleep and dream beautiful things. It's definitely something that I would listen again for the next couple of weeks.
Best experienced through headphones walking home in the rain at 4am.
Phenomenal record. Check his Kindred EP from earlier this year too. 12 minute soundscape vibes. [editline]9th May 2012[/editline] And his other album
Sure will. I'm starting to dig this dark, haunting sound.
Burial sounds sombre and haunting but almost optimistic like there's sadness but a glimmer of hope. I dunno, I just think the guy has nailed some point that touches me on an emotional level. And the bit where it reverted to the slow bit around 2 minute mark.
Really enjoyed the EP bro. I've had my fill of smooth dubstep tracks and ,for a while, had the misconception that the genre was all about heavy bass and wubs based from my early listens in the UFK Youtube channel. But Burial impacted me in the way I listen to dubstep and perhaps music as a whole. Deep stuff man, deep stuff
Don't listen to UKF known purveyor of bad taste Best thing to do is just check out labels; Deep Medi Musik, DMZ and Tempa are good places to start.

Thanks for the recommendations though; I've been aching for some new stuff to listen to.
I listen to some UKF stuff occasionally just to try new artists, 8/10 times they are bad.
