I'm surprised for the most part, why TellTale? They've made mostly good story-driven games, now this? And oh man, Dave Fennoy. I immediately thought of Lee as soon as he spoke.
what a fucking embarrassment this is genuinely a sign that telltale is going off the deep end really hard
Tales from the Borderlands is one of their best games yet.
Well. They did good with what they could I suppose. They are a business, and this is a very good deal for them. I just hope one day they go back and make a new Sam and Max... plz
I can't wait for the TTG made Angry Birds story mode.

Now waiting for Telltale to make "Gran Turismo: The Real Driving Adventure Game"
Because Minecraft = $$$$$$$$$. I wouldn't be surprised if this is their best selling game yet.
it'll be because they make funny faces and farty noises and all the dumb kids laugh
This would be the best thing to watch while drunk with friends. [editline]5th July 2015[/editline] I love how that girl has a gold sword. like that can't do shit. I mean it's the most encahantable, but whats the point of enchanting a shitty sword that'll break like fucking instantly?
And here I thought we'd actually get a backstory of steve, why is he all alone and such. Or how creepers got to be. Also ender dragon and the 3 headed thing. Or the pigmen! But fuck that, let's make some trendy ass looking teenagers fight againts evil
I like Telltale games, but this seriously looks like hot garbage/an amateur YouTube series. Why
Genuinly interested in an actual storyline to Minecraft other than get tough, defeat final boss, poem. However, does it REALLY have to be Minecraft? There are countless other games series with far more interesting backstories for Telltale to use instead (Half-Life, Warframe, Metro, Fallout.ect).

I like Telltale games, but this seriously looks like hot garbage/an amateur YouTube series. Why
Because the Minecraft aesthetic is dirt-cheap to produce. All the modelling and texturing is easily a one-man job. Then they put all of their budget on the voice-actors. A TellTale-Game based on Half-Life 2, drama among City 17 (or some other city's) rebels. That would be AMAZING! Or something based on Metro. ;____;
I like Telltale games, but this seriously looks like hot garbage/an amateur YouTube series. Why
Because now they get to reel in all those 13 year old subscribers. They're going to be fucking rolling in dosh and I don't blame them for doing it.
Gmod telltale game when?
the zombie sounds and animations (the same animation they used in every close-up of a zombie in TWD1 and 2) were literally lifted and re-purposed for the minecraft zombies jesus christ telltale would it kill you to make some more content for your very finite library of stock? [editline]5th July 2015[/editline] on another note this looks alright and im interested to see how it plays out, don't think it'll pull a lego movie though as one guy mentioned earlier in the thread because of just how seriously it takes itself out the gate
I'm pretty sure the minecraft audience (children) just want to build and explore, I honestly don't know what audience this is going for
look at the view count on this video. Hell, search 'minecraft' on youtube and just look around. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-sH53vXP2A
What a fucking joke
"Creeper will remember that."
Hilarious to see the aggressiveness in this thread :v:
Hilarious to see the aggressiveness in this thread :v:
All over a game aimed at children, too. Does anyone legitimately think this is being aimed at the typical gaming crowd?
All over a game aimed at children, too. When they have other things like "Tales of the borderland" which got a really good overall rating from the critics and could get them much more money if they didn't blew a quarter of their balance into LEGO: Squares running away from a cliche'd trope mad explosion story thing

You're acting like they were forced to do this.
I don't know how much they're spending. But it feels like they're going to make a shitton of money, and that money can be used for more stuff than Minecraft The Game for sure. Their success with The Walking Dead has allowed them to expand considerably. No doubt this game will bring the same amount of money, probably even more.
I highly doubt it that would be the case, sure, they'll get a good amount of sales from kids but I'm certain it'll be a lot less than what they got with their other titles, since this is aimed at an audience that have to get permission from mom & dad to buy the new cool kids games every year. I don't see any mature people buying this from the cringey look of the trailer, but that's just my guess.

Minecraft makes a shitload of money, and Telltale has built up a pretty good reputation over the last little while. That's why this exists. I'm not excited for it, nor am I cringing. I totally understand why it exists.
Maybe the performance won't be shit and the animations won't look bad on the Telltale Engine because of the ludicrously simple graphics now. [editline]5th July 2015[/editline] oh my god they're reusing zombie animations from TWD, that's hilariously bad.
My main issue with the trailer is that it's saying that telltale games have any choices. It's like the Mass effect series, tons of choices that don't actually affect stuff and then one of a few endings.

Personally when this succeeds I hope it will cause the studio to expand so they can take more projects on at once.
All over a game aimed at children, too. Does anyone legitimately think this is being aimed at the typical gaming crowd?
The problem this is Telltale making this. These are guys who at their best can tell really awesome and engaging stories, for them to waste their talent on this is insulting. I mean hey it's a huge paycheck and I would take it in their shoes too, but just like them I'd also try to do as little as I can with it, make it functional and look decent, but beyond that put it right next to Jurassic Park and Law & Order on the "really awkward" shelf.
I feel like Steam Refunds could really screw this over once children buy the season pass, then realize that means not all episodes are out at once and that it doesn't play like Minecraft. Provided the kids know how to get a steam refund, or have an adult familiar enough with Steam to try to get one, it might not look too pretty if the target audience doesn't like it because of how it plays. But hopefully, whatever Telltale learns and gains from this game can be used in expanding their other franchises. Also I find it funny how this will be on steam but Minecraft itself isn't.
