Get a Boss equalizer pedal and another cheap boss pedal, you can make anything sound like anything.
Just turn your gain and master volume up, turn down the mid, turn up the treble, and turn on the overdrive...works fine with my amp.
Well I suppose it depends what gear you have. A good metal combo in my opinion is a Schecter guitar, a line 6 amp, and possibly a Boss metal core pedal. Although if you get those first two you really don't need the pedal. I have a Spyder ||| amp and A Schecter Hellraiser, but when I used to have a marshall amp I used a pedal. ( I think I actually used hardwire but you should stick with Boss). But gear aside, I always have my gain at about 6-8 and my bass at 10, and my treble at about 7.
