I love the album, but have yet to pick it up on vinyl. Gotta get it though before summer rolls around.
Do you realize different people like different things?
I realise people posting shit comments yes. :smugissar:
I haven't posted any "shit comments."
It's not like I said "DURR HURR DIS ALBUM SUX!!1!"
He asked how people feel about the album and I, personally, don't like it.
The Wall > everythinggg

speaking of the pink floyd, what do princess diana and pink floyd have in common?
[sp]their last big hit was the wall[/sp]

Amazing, backing up your shit comment.
I dont care if you liked it or not. In fact i dont think its the greatest by Pink Floyd. But you are being rated dumb because its dumb to comment with no substance.
(except maybe Lateralus by Tool)
That deserves a high five.

Final Cut was basically The Wall Sides 5 and 6
Momentary Lapse of Reason was weird and synthpoppy
Division Bell was the shit though
also I listened to all of Piper last night and decided Syd Barrett's actually a pretty cool guy

+1
By the way is anyone else going to see The Wall live?
I really, really tried to like this album, as I had heard so many people raving about it
But I find it so overrated...
You and me both. Most of the songs are so boring I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep. Toss in some really annoying samples and monotone singing on top of that, and the sum changes people's lives?? Why anyone would get so excited over this album is beyond me. But I guess since they labeled it "prog" no one will ever dare admit they dislike it. Not even to themselves.
Disliking it makes you infertile.
/fact
At first I thought that Pink Floyd was really boring, but I'm getting into them right now. Might buy an album soon.

MLoR was alright, just nowhere near as good as their other albums
also it was when Gilmour was going through his "Martin Clunes" phase:

Greatest Album Ever Made. No doubt. I loved it so much, I have regular TDSOTM listenings planned on my schedule.
Great album, great band, bad thread.
Animals will always be my favourite. But Wish you were here is technically the best.

Aside from it's a genre given constant abuse and the mere mention of it can get you odd looks.
Jesus christ you're a disney rock fan with a goddamn fairy for an avatar, stop being pretentious.

It was basically a hatred for prog which gave rise to punk rock :frog:

Listen to it a bit. To me the music is amazing, all the details, it brings out emotion in me. Sometimes it takes a bit to start liking an album or band, so it is kind of hard to judge an album off of one or two listens. I find that some albums are really good on the first couple listens and just plain suck after that. For me though, this album has actually gotten better and better with each listen.

Animals is my favorite as well. I just love all the long songs, especially Dogs. That one part in the song first had me going "what the heck are they doing" for the first couple of listens, but soon I began to love it and it became one of my favorite parts in the song.

Songs I've heard on the radio from this album
Breathe
Time
The Great Gig in the Sky (which is a bit of a surprise but was late at night)
Money
Us and Them
Brain Damage + Eclipse

It is definitely worth learning to like prog rock. Not much else to say. Except that if you dont like the type of music dont call it overrated.
Edit: Weren't you the guy who liked The Jonas Brothers? :psyduck:
