• I'm making a crappily drawn Bioshock comic

OKAY! So after like two days of deliberation and two days of on-and-off drawing I think I figured out the best way to handle the next part of the comic (and page 100 while I'm here), so expect the updates I continue to deprive you of (oh god I'm so sorry :[) later today!
OKAY! So after like two days of deliberation and two days of on-and-off drawing I think I figured out the best way to handle the next part of the comic (and page 100 while I'm here), so expect the updates I continue to deprive you of (oh god I'm so sorry :[) later today!
I seriously actually can't wait. This is one of my favourite things on FP.
Well, here's your page 100, gents. Please listen to the following while viewing, it really completes the experience: PAGE 100! So there you go. It took a lot of editing and a lot of rewatching a particularly good scene from Mulan, and I did it out of order so that was a pain to fix, but that's all she wrote- or rather, I wrote. I hope you enjoyed it because you won't be getting another one until page 200. :v: Thanks to Asrue2 for the help on what the hell to do by the way!
That is most likely the best crossover I have ever seen. :golfclap:
Filesmelt keeps going down like it always does so I rehosted page 100 elsewhere. Sorry about missing yesterday, I will update more tonight. I redownloaded Rainlendar to help me keep track of my comicmaking schedule like I'm some sort of mule. :v:
And so, we finally start Part Three! Yaaaaay! Let's see how long I can go before introducing a new character! PART THREE: AMONG FRIENDS Page 101 Well that didn't take long! A whole paragraph, must be a new record! Say hello to Jill, everyone, my personal deus ex machina to this whole situation. I didn't want Jack to die again because that'd be boring plotwise, and I wanted to pull off a few important things that won't be relevant until much, much later in the comic, so I created Jill! But anyway, yay, Jack isn't dead, and is once again saved by the glorious health kit! I'm sure he savored it. I'm sure Jack and Jill are gonna be best buddies as they trudge up the hill on their way to the Grotto. Let's just hope their relationship doesn't come tumbling down. If Jack falls down, Jill will surely come tumbling after. ...Have I made enough Jack and Jill jokes yet? Oh, also, before I forget, you might have noticed Jack sporting a five o' clock shadow growing slightly thicker over the course of the comic. It's been there since the Medical Pavilion (you can go back and check but it's too light to see anything), and I've been slowly giving him a beard as the comic has gone on, but only now have I really decided to make it noticeable. I mean, he was out for hours. Plus he's been down in Rapture for months since the comic started. :v:
Lol is Jill going to be Jack's love interest now and you're going to add a weird page that basically needs to be censored because they're making little Splicer Babies? :p :D
D: I get slightly weirded out just thinking about that. Hopefully I don't get that far before... Uh... Something happens. I refuse to reveal what happens but I can't stop myself from dropping hints like a dog drops poop on the carpet. Anyway, page time! Page 102 EDIT: I FORGOT JACK'S FIVE O CLOCK SHADOW. SILLY ME. I'LL RE-ADD IT IN A BIT. So, now you know what Jack really looks like at this point in the comic. Why Jill helped him up, we'll never know. Maybe it was just his personality. Maybe it was because he was giving off a sweet odor. MAYBE HE JUST DECIDED HE DIDN'T LIKE PEOPLE. ...Sorry, channeled a little too much Atlas there for a second. Gotta get in character for drawing the comic somehow. But any way you slice it, good men died, and now it's come down to Jack and Jill to find out if Julie's alive or not. Of course, we'll find out in the next page or so, but they won't. :V
I like how you decided to mix things up a little.
On today's comic, Jack channels his inner oh-shit-they-stole-his-arrow-too, because, oh shit, they stole his arrow too! Page 103 Not much to say about this comic. Enjoy it I suppose! It's the only page of the comic that is a .bmp, since every image host I tried outright refused to upload it as a .png.
Love these, mate. From the humor to the simple art style (which adds to the humor). I also like the use of the FP Smileys.
So, on this fine Monday, I'm going to be temporarily ignoring my three-page-special day, mostly because I don't have three pages prepared to post at the moment. I'll delay the other two to, uh, whenever I get around to it today, and post them later. For now, a page without Jack in it so that I can't forget to draw his beard again! Page 104 This obvious sexual aversion pun brought to you by the members of the 2K Forum, who have forever implanted images of Jack and Jill into my mind that I never ever wanted to see! Here's to you! :tiphat: This page was intended to be completely serious, no jokes, because that's how good old Jed rolls. No nonsense. But then, of course, I remembered that this is the Saturnines we're dealing with. They are old dudes wearing large overcoats with a plaid pattern in blood, hyped up on plasmid juice and more blood. They run around wearing masks made out of twigs and leaves and teleport around like Marty McFly and Doc Brown on a saturday night. It is impossible to take them seriously. Unrelated, but I've been thinking recently about Rose. She's the first splicer you ever meet in Rapture, and she's the only Rosebud type splicer with a red coat. She's not particularly special attackwise, but her health is far higher than the rest of the spider splicers, who are somewhat fragile once you've done the research for ol' Peachy. Rosebud splicers are, as quoted from the Wiki, "a female factory worker frantically looking for her lost child, who might have been taken to be made into a Little Sister. She cries out to her child, or for her child not to be taken from her, when she is not singing a broken version of Amazing Grace." When I made Rose the sympathetic-gone-evil character, I didn't know this. I couldn't remember for the life of me what splicers talked about when you aren't around. I hardly ever pay real close attention to the voice files, but I think I might have struck a good note. Rose's "origin" in this comic is apparently unintentionally canon, as Rosebud splicers often say things along the lines of, "Ah, don't hurt her! No, please! Take me, instead!" or "Take me! Take my body! Take anything! Just don't hurt- take my little one!" I just thought it was interesting how I was right about Rose without actually knowing it. [editline]05:59PM[/editline] Since this is the page king I might as well make an important announcement as well. :siren:IF YOU COME ACROSS A BROKEN PAGE, MAKE A POST SAYING WHICH PAGE IS BROKEN, AND I WILL REPLACE IT.:siren: People have been reporting missing pages all over but nobody has told me which numbers, so if you happen upon one, let me know. Thanks!

Also page 100 was the funniest thing I've ever seen bioshock related, anywhere.
Oh gawd wut :v: I'm loving this comic Doomish, you must continue it! Well, you can see for yourself. If you're too lazy to click, here are a few examples of what they said:
Lol is Jill going to be Jack's love interest now and you're going to add a weird page that basically needs to be censored because they're making little Splicer Babies?

HELL YES!!!.... i wonder if jack used a tonic for........male enhancement

OOC: Make em have splicer babies!
Today on Biosoap Operashock, our hero works up the courage to chat it up with our resident female protagonist! Also I didn't forget to draw his beard! Page 105 I'd really like to see what the 2K Officials think of this comic. They'd probably think I'm not doing their game justice by diverging from the plot so much as I have been recently. But, I'll never know, since I don't think I'd be able to work up the courage to get critique from them anyway. Such is life. :v:
actually as writers and developers, I think they'd enjoy seeing a fresh bit of writing that isn't just blandly copy/pasted from the game. The unique outlook and backstory you're adding gives your work - and thus their work - so much more depth than you think.
It's cool if I use this avatar, isn't it?
I think you should go for it and see what the guys at 2k think.
I just got my tablet yesterday so don't be surprised if this isn't very good.
It's cool if I use this avatar, isn't it?
Fine by me. v:v:v
I just got my tablet yesterday so don't be surprised if this isn't very good.
Haha, that's great. I rather enjoyed the pale pail. [editline]09:37PM[/editline] Also, someone on the 2k forum asked me to do another in-color page so they could see what Jill looks like in color, so I guess you can expect that eventually. [editline]09:40PM[/editline]
I think you should go for it and see what the guys at 2k think.

actually as writers and developers, I think they'd enjoy seeing a fresh bit of writing that isn't just blandly copy/pasted from the game. Still, though, it's nice to know that hypothetically they would hypothetically appreciate my comic... Hypothetically.
I didn't want to go searching for what their legs look like so I improvised :v:
Suddenly, Jed feels remorse out of seemingly nowhere! Page 106 It's nice to know that Rose feels comfortable enough around Jed to towel-up with him in the room. Ladies have to keep up their bathing schedule even after the underwater apocalypse, y'know. In case you were wondering why exactly I had Jed and Rose chat over a nice hot bath, it's because, well, they can't really do much else while they're waiting for Jack to arrive at the Grotto. And you've got to consider that Rose has been basically electrical-burned to death, so washing out her injuries will be good for her. As the author, I've got to bring her back into prime condition as quick as I can, because the sooner she's back on her feet, the sooner the pressure is back on for Jack. She can't be out of commission for too long, or she'll become just another plot point and lose her established main-villain status. I'd stop bringing her up so often if I could, but I don't want the readers to forget that she's there and she's active while she isn't in the same panel as Jack. And, no, before you ask, there will be no nudity. Sorry to disappoint you if you were hoping to catch a glimpse of Rose's spliced up, mangled breasts. Upper-boob will unfortunately have to do since that's really the extent the actual game goes nudity-wise. I don't think I'd want to draw that anyway, sounds kind of gross.
Who'd ever want to see Rose nude? She's horribly mutated and probably severely mangled up from all the times she was shot.
I read them all in one sitting. I like them. You're pretty good, Doomish. [editline]12:26AM[/editline]
Who'd ever want to see Rose nude? She's horribly mutated and probably severely mangled up from all the times she was shot.
I wanna see. Seriously. I wanna see.

And so, on this page, I, the author, have proved that love can bloom on the battlefield! Page 107 I'd like to say I've been looking forward to this happening, I really would like to, but I've actually been dreading it for weeks. This is possibly the largest deviation from the game I've ever done, because the simple fact is that in Bioshock, you don't have a love interest. You don't even have a companion. At first I was going to just scrap Jill altogether and come up with something else to do for this part, but I perservered, and, well, here's the fruit of my labor. The first official makeout. I mean, come on, Jack and Jill are practically MADE for each other.

There might not be a page today because I'm going to make it one of those fancy colored ones due to a request by a member of the 2K Forum. I say might because I'm not sure how long it will take me to fish out my colored pencils. :v: If it isn't done I'll post it tomorrow anyway, so no need to worry! [editline]05:48PM[/editline] I think I've finally mustered up the courage to show the comic off to 2K (and Irrational Games now that I think about it). I'm not sure if they'll like it but I want to find out what they think about it, just curious. The problem is, I still don't know how to get ahold of them. I don't know who I should e-mail or anything, so if someone could provide me with contact information, it'd be appreciated. I just want to know if they like it or not, that's all. [editline]06:44PM[/editline] Again, apologies for multiple-posting, but hey, I finished the comic I said I probably wasn't going to finish earlier! Page 108 So, there you go. That's what Jill looks like "in color". Unfortunately, you don't get to see her pants in this page, but I will tell you that they're dark blue jeans so that you don't lose sleep over it. Well, I sent Irrational Games a contact e-mail using the message box on their site, in fact I sent two because I messed up the first one, but if anyone has a more direct way, I'd like to know it. Until then, I'll just wait for a response.
