Now, I couldn't decide whether to have Jack harvest the little sister against you guys' wishes, and have him slowly turn into a "bad" protagonist, or keep on the straight and narrow and save her, so I drew two versions. [url=http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/8756/harvester.png]This one, where Jack harvests the little sister, is the non-canon one (it's also substantially lighter than the rest of the comic for some reason), so you can disregard it after you read it. Alternate page maybe?[/url]
And, as well, I've finally gotten to introduce a new comic mechanic! Every time Jack splices, his scars slowly grow, and by the end of the comic, he'll look like a splicer himself, unless I decide to undo that at some point (way to spoil the story, self). I was gonna have him grow a beard but this makes more sense anyway. See you tomorrow, when we FINALLY get out of this medical dump.

I just want to let you know now. I cannot draw Rosies. I simply cannot. (Wikia article: [url=http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Rosie]here[/url]) This was kind of a problem over the next few pages because, well, it's the first Rosie fight. However, I gave it my best shot instead of thinking "well butts I have failed the internet" and ragequitting life. So without further ado my completely cartoonish Rosie fight.

So uh, you may have noticed a comic deficiency recently. I apologize for that but I have been without a working scanner. However, I've sent mine in to get repaired and it will be returned on Saturday.
And, while I'm here, I have a question before I proceed to page 50. Would you like to see the comic colored in colored pencils? It'll be minimal since there often isn't anything in the background but if you'd like me to start coloring the comic I'll do it.
You could try it one time and we say whether we like it better or not.

Alrighty, folks, here's page 50. It's just like any other page in the comic except it's in color. It'll be the first and possibly last of its kind, so enjoy it while it lasts. If we continue with the color, please note that Jack's skin color won't be, well, as crappy, because this page was drawn BEFORE I decided to color it, meaning I had to be extra careful and not go over the dark pencil lines instead of just coloring a circle Peach-ish.

So, yay or nay? As you can see, the color is minimal and the art looks like it was colored by a five year old, which kind of fits with the style, but I'll clean it up a bit if it is requested. :v:.
Continue with no color, it does not make it any better, I actually prefer the regular black and white.

I'm still reeling from that whole experience because I honestly thought the thing was going to explode, or at least set on fire, but it's still barely usable so I'm leaving it off for the night.
As for the color issue, I've decided to stay with black and white thanks to this post which reminded me of why I started this comic in the first place:

Bioshock takes place way back before there were color pictures, and I'd like to keep with that theme (I mean, Jack wouldn't just pull out a cell phone and start talking to Peach about snappies, right?) So I guess the Page 50 celebration is going to be that it's the only one in color (so far anyway). Updates will resume regularly tomorrow when my computer has had some time to recoil from the terror it went through last night. Laters!

Do not take that bold, red text lightly, folks, this is probably the largest update we'll have for a while, because today, I have decided to do what a few people have asked me to do and separate the comic into chapters. Don't worry, there won't be a complex system, it'll just be that every level is a chapter.
Thus, I have drawn some chapter title cards. They will be linked to at the top of each chapter in the index. They are intended to be completely organic looking and therefore have not been cropped or edited in the slightest. The holes you see on the left are for the three ring binder I keep the comic in. You can sort of see the right edge of the rings in some of the earlier pages but I started printing the page layouts further away from the edge recently.

As you can see, I really really really didn't want to let the whole "Rose stalks you throughout the entire first 5th of the game" thing go, so I am kind of starting to develop her into a major character. Sorry about that, but hey, like I said way back in May, Jack just walking around by himself would be boring.
Also, today we meed Jed and Larry, two of the remotely sane splicers still living in Rapture. Tomorrow we'll learn what they want from Jack and what he's going to do about it.
