Where's your credibility then?
For the love of god prof cool, stop doing that.

pretty much, but sometimes it can be quite clever.
I mean seriously professor cool., you're calling me out on not knowing what I'm talking about when you admitted to defending Salo without having even seen it! If there's anyone here who doesn't know what they're talking about it's you.
Where's your credibility then?
i dont claim to have any
i just got opinions and theyre different from yours and i like to stir up trouble because hey! its the internet! i can say whatever i well want and who gives a shit?

yeah, probably.
but kalibos vociferously attacked it without having seen it either. is he better than me or are we on equal ground?
puzzling.

lmao
I'd say art should have some sort of thought & emotion behind it.
Of course there's a great difference between 'good art' & 'bad art.'
Good Art: A Clockwork Orange, Starry Night
Bad Art: Furry Vengeance, a single red line at a 40 degree angle
Bad Art: a single red line at a 40 degree angle
while i respect your opinion, i disagree.
brutal, simple things like this can be very powerful. i forget who it is, but there's some artist who just takes canvases and has like one side is red and the other is orange or something like that and i say to myself, "if i was rich, id put that in my house".
but hey! that's just me.

Art is extraordinarily subjective, isn't it?
indeed.

Yeah I bet you read that as 'For the love of "God prof cool"'

yeahhhhh im god
hahahahahhahahah these forums are great!
Yeah, you're kinda ruining it :v:
ruining? more like...
yeah okay maybe.
Good to hear.
Have you not watched Salo then?
nope
its on my to-view list though
Don't really look forward to it. Its not one of those movies to love.
I watched it because I felt I needed to, now I know that I'll never watch it again.
I was kind of haunted but its a complex movie, not easy to get into.
yeah, that's why im seeing it. i have this book of the 1001 movies to see before you die. so far ive got like 120 or so down, and i want to just broaden my cinematic horizons so i figure its worth seeing at least once. not gonna get it on dvd or anything, though.
Hmm, I'm not sure if its a movie I would've recommended. Very wierd how a book like that has it.
Its genuinely disturbing, everything about it. It can be a bore as people have said, but those moments that it is boring are still cringeworthy.
I have to say that it was an interesting experience, not very fulfilling though like if I watched The Conversation or Taxi Driver.
right. i dig what youre saying 100%. like, weird experimental short films like un chien andalou or dog star man are worth seeing once, but once is plenty.
I wouldn't MIND seeing it again, but I know it would be wrong to,
Get my drift?

Those are good movies. The ending of the Conversation is one of the best movie endings ever.
yeah
i guess? i dunno any more!

Its definitely one of my favourites. When I first watched it my respect for Gene Hackman as an actor shot through the roof, as I previously had only known him as Lex Luthor and in Enemy of the State. :v:
gene is the man, man. i still cry at the end of royal tenenbaums...:smith:

show me where I "vociferously attacked" it
I think this just topped A Serbian Film
This is much worse.

It was all on youtube but got taken down. Some of the scenes are highly realistic for the time and its questionable if some of it was actually done.
There is a scene where they put a body in a huge microwave and heat it up, the organs come flying out of his asshole. Worst part is that its a real (dead) body with real organs coming out. The cat being killed by the rats is confirmed as real.
This movie got me so turned on, are there more like this?

I remember watching all of the controversial scenes in that movie.
I am now 100% desensitized!
