A few months ago a bunch of dudes stormed a wildlife refuge and occupied it with guns because some dudes got arrested for trying to set a fire to stop a blaze that got out of control (real thing I'll explain later).

Praying calmed them down before, but they're starting to get pissed off by it. Her one bargaining chip just went away.

At this point their motive is to get out of illegally occupying a federal wild reserve for 40 days with zero consequences (including keeping their guns and having the felony indictments against them dropped), or die in the bloodbath they claim the FBI wants despite the FBI trying for weeks to talk them out of the situation peacefully (and they keep reaching for their guns, 'MURICA style, while claiming that it's the FBI who want them to die).
