I never saw the point to the Matrix sequels, the first film was good enough on its own.
Fuck me senseless, here we go again:
Hurr durr there's a commonly shared opinion, it must be bandwagon effect
I dont see another explanation to them hating Reloaded and Revolution other than the bandwagon effect. I never jump on bandwagons and my opinions aren't "commonly shared" for some reason
If they make it like the first one then I'm definitely going to be curious to see it. Though I really am puzzled as to how the hell they're going to continue the story [sp]Because Neo was blatantly Dead at the end of Revolutions[/sp] (unless its The 2nd Renaissance Live Action)
If they're going to redo the sequels and make it stay closer to the Original and what made it so awesome I'd watch it. Reloaded was shallow but not bad. Revolutions was decent to where they were fighting all the sentinals on the dock, that was awesome but the 'Final Battle' scene had me like 'What the actual fuck were they thinking when they made this?!'
This actually makes me want to see the first three again. Or at least before a new one is released.
"Unfortunately no one can be told what the matrix is, you have to see it for yourself."
[img_thumb]http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee14/Raptor_1337/matrix_morpheus_red_blue_pill.jpg[/img_thumb]
That made me think what a movie would be like if it was 'What if he took the blue pill?'
I really, really hope that they aren't in 3D.
Well, my dad is just going to flip out over this due to him being a big matrix fan. This is great.
But.....[sp]the war with the machines ended, Neo died, Smith died (sorta), we even got the bright and colorful rainbow bullshit ending at the end of the third!....Is Neo going to come back 3 days after the end?[/sp]
Or it's just a rewrite of the earlier movies with new stuff added.
For everyone saying [sp]Neo died at the end,[/sp] just remember that he was essentially a Christ figure, resurrection isn't out of the realms of possibility.
True but the real problems with making more sequels is that the story already concluded.
Everything was explained and tied up, we learned everything about the matrix and how it originated. The only thing that can be done is to either set the movies before/during the existing movies in which case it would suck cause we know how it'll end or to set it after in which case it can't be more than a retread of the existing movies (fight war against the machines).
They left no plot points unsolved at the end of the third movie, EVERYTHING was explained and resolved.
How in the bloody hell do you make a sequel form that without pulling a giant dick and ret-conning stuff out of existance?

And if the new movies expand the existing movies i.e set between existing movies then it's nothing but pointless money milking and they can all fuck right off.
Oh, fuck you OP, I didn't know that [sp]Neo dies[/sp] and I was about to watch the movies.
It would be interesting if they did something where there are a bunch of intertwined short stories set in the Matrix, with each character discovering something about the Matrix, but none of them grasping the whole thing.

I think they/someone did but it was anime so bleh.
Oh, fuck you OP
Sorry. Spoiler tagged
I liked the first two films. The first was great because of all of the science fiction awe and wonder. The second was good because of the superb action scenes. The third one just felt "meh."
Really wonder what they're gonna do now. A prequel would be kind of cool.
I think they/someone did but it was anime so bleh.
I think it's The Animatrix, a compilation of 9 short, animated films about Matrix. In my option it was pretty good and worth the 90 minutes.
OH MY FUCKING GOD

Well the ending did hint at another film so I guess it was to be expected, only question was when.
Also I bet I'm the only one that liked all three Matrix movies and not just the first one.

I liked them all but the first one was the best one.

Yeah that's sort of what I meant, but in the Animatrix the stories were standalone. A Heroes-style story where disparate characters slowly come together to work out what the Matrix is on their own would be a pretty interesting experiment.

Also the Animatrix was excellent, I recommend it.
Who said neo died?
We saw his body being carried away , that is all.

I loved this franchise. I don't want it ending up like Indiana Jones. It was fine. It doesn't need two more movies.
I'll still probably see them, but they'll have to be pretty awesome for me to give more than a couple stars.

I liked all 3 too! ;D
And I also wonder how are they going to "re-boot" the franchise, since it's been said already the story is over... IMHO another movie set in the Matrix universe would be more fitting.
Yes, do indeed continue shitting all over the first movie. The second and third films were good action flicks, but they were just plain retarded compared to the first movie.
I think they/someone did but it was anime so bleh.
hey eff you, animatrix is great.
well, some of the segments, at least.
But.....[sp]the war with the machines ended, Neo died, Smith died (sorta), we even got the bright and colorful rainbow bullshit ending at the end of the third!....Is Neo going to come back 3 days after the end?[/sp]
i sorta got the feeling that it was a temporary ending
They should reboot the francise. It went so batshit insane that from now on everything would be explainable in some
idiotic downright insane way.
I thought [sp]neo died at the end what[/sp].
Actually, I'm fairly sure the Oracle says something about "us not seeing the last of him" or something like that.
Yeah Paul Atreides "died" too, damned if he didn't show up later anyways. Since Neo = Paul and his death is implied instead of outright cast; the Oracle says he'll likely be back someday. There are plenty of options for continuance. Question is whether or not they should.
