I would've said Simone Simons. Epica is probably my favourite band, and I love Simone's voice on recorded tracks. But if you watch some youtube videos of Epica singing live, she really isn't that great and has quite a weak voice

Most of their live videos I think she does a pretty damn good job. Plus I LOVE her work with Kamelot.

Brian Johnson was an amazing vocalist with a pretty good range before he joined AC/DC (which he declined in because he was pulled out of his normal range).

In the band "Geordie" Brian was in the perfect zone for himself, in terms of his pitch. He could sing a pretty good range and not suffer from any out of the ordinary degradation.
